Most tables that extend are wider (36" to 40" inches wide) and my dining area is only 8' wide. I wanted to be able accommodate up to 6 or 8 people on occasions. So I bought two of these tables and combined them by removing a leaf from each table and joining the tops together with the hinges from the drop leafs I removed. Now I have a 29.5" wide x 55" long table that easily extends to 74" long when the leafs on each end are raised. Perfect solution for less than *** Table has a nice heavy weight, looks nice and it is much easier to get around.
it's got a rough-hewn surface with a lot of marks and indentations to make it appear older and well-used. The color in the picture is accurate and it feels like they dyed the pinewood but didn't put a sealing coat of polyurethane on it. It's a big solid table, looks great in the kitchen. I'm very happy with it.
I bought this because of the design but my husband and I really like it. It's really sturdy, looks nice and is a nice addition to our modern kitchen. I really have no negative comments but we've only had it a month. I think it will hold up well though.
