This is a beautiful dining set! However, as to the ridiculous factory-stamped distressing...why??!!! They should have left the table top and seats alone! We bought walnut wood filler and darkened it mostly with walnut stain(tried a little red oak, but went back to the walnut) until it was as dark as we could get it. We then used a small plastic wedge scraper tool to push it into the distress holes. Just be sure to keep wiping to remove the excess WITH the grain. Check it in the light to get it all. It camouflages the fake-looking distressed places rather well!
The piece looks great but some of the pieces had some small damages when we unpacked it. One chair had a support on the bottom broken off in one corner. The dining table top has like a knot or nail sticking out of the top. The chair back has some holes in them.
