I initially purchased this desk for my son's room, but it was a little small. So, I'm using it in the hall. It fits nicely in our little space that I call my little make-shift office at the top of the landing. We had to remove one of the shelves to put my computer tower into the desk - that was the only real negative. It also took us a while (4 hours) to put the desk together, but the finish product is what counts. :)
This is the perfect desk for a modern office. The legs and handles are chrome and the desk itself is a wood product with a thick layer of lacquer. The instructions are ridiculous. Just build the legs and flip the desk on its top and attach. Holes lined up perfectly. There was damage to one drawer but it does not show and is internal. Overstock must buy dinged items because I've never had a perfect t piece.
I got this desk while it was on sale. It's very easy to build (Allen wrench assembly, with the only exception being the little shelf. You have to crank four screws into this piece but once again, very simple). The desk itself is sturdy (my biggest concern) and it doesn't wobble when you try to shake it. The sleek look was exactly what I was wanted as I really like the chrome legs with the charcoal wood top. If you're not looking for anything too extravagant and the price range is in your budget, I do recommend this desk.
