This desk fit exactly with our casual rustic elegance licit area that we built. I wanted a desk that could blend in with a style matching living room and dining. It is very sturdy and extremely easy to put together.
When the desk arrived it was immediately apparent that the pre-constructed portions were shoddily done at best. Parts that were supposed to be together were hanging apart, nothing that interfered witht the utility of the desk - at least not yet. The drawer broke after about four hours, as well. So needless to say, I used a lot of wood glue to try and get the desk to hang together. Sorta successful. The thing is for all that, it's a corner desk and works perfectly in the space i have with the look i wanted. And the parts of the desk that were messed up were not visible upon casual inspection, so it's kinda ok. I like the desk, but between the price (too high) and the construction quality (too low), I'd think about trying something else. The corner desk towers you can get are nice. Maybe try one of those instead. All in all, I'm satified with the purchase, but since I needed a desk so badly, I think my standards were low.
We bought this desk for a small seasonal home. It had to have storage for files and fit in a small corner in the living room of our 800 square foot house. Mission accomplished. The finish is nice and the drawers work smoothly. The desk top is big enough for a lamp, a laptop and a printer. Assembly was a breeze with my husband and I working on it. The directions were clear (just pics, no words). I recommend for a kid's room, or other casual area.
I am very satisfied with this purchase. I purchased for a home office where the desk would be the primary piece of furniture sitting in the center of the room. While not a hefty executive desk, this piece looks great from all angles and is certainly well suited to be either put against a wall (as pictured) or sat in the center of a room (as I have it in my home office). Construction was very straightforward and not difficult. It took us about 3 hours to put together, but we did pretty casually and made a few mistakes along the way. Directions were good and no parts were missing. Everything arrived undamaged and construction is solid. Finish colors are a walnut and true-to-picture. I liken this to a desk you would purchase at a mid-level home interior/furnishings store already assembled. Such a desk would cost at least $800 delivered assembled. Looking forward to selling it for a profit when (and if) we every move! We assembled with an electric drill but could be done with hand tools. Rubber mallet is not necessary - we used a hammer covered with fabric to cushion when we needed to.
