I read a review about this item saying it muffles kitchen sounds and that is what I wanted. I moved from my home to an apartment and the kitchen is slightly open to the living room and the fridge is noisy so I wanted this to help muffle that sound. It does not muffle it at all. It is an attractive piece and not flimsy but no benefit to muffling sound and so no use to me. But again, a pretty piece. I ored red the rise one.
This is light weight so it does get knocked over easily but not damaged. I love the versatility of changing it. It is a divider in a business, so I just flip it around every so months and people think its great. Shocked when I tell them the price and purchased on Overstock. It did have a little flaw when it was cut wrong, but the pattern was so busy it covered it up. Not enough to worry or complain about. I also love that my purchase, helps a 3rd world country and their economy. This was made in an indigenous country. An area I had never heard of and or traveled. i participate on international missions, so this was rewarding, in another aspect.
I own an online international store. With that said, I take hundreds of photographs to develop advertisements. I had the idea after spending time in Japan of how beautiful the back drop of the real paper windows of this Shoji pattern in temples dating back to 600 A.D. It was cold outside but the paper worked! Same for summer, heat out! I chose the 4 foot high one with 4 panels to set up on my dining room for photographing jewelry, earrings, etc. off of a mannequin bust. The pictures turn out great! Total weight is under 4 lbs so when I am finished, I fold up in seconds and store in a closet. Highly recommend. Overstock had the best price for a 4 foot high Shoji screen.
