The crib looks great in our nursery. Baby won't be here for a couple more weeks, but this appears to be a solid piece. Assembly was pretty easy with 2 people. Sometimes just needed an extra hand to hold something up while assembling. Be careful as you put it together, if pieces fall against each other they can scrape or chip paint, but my one spot was easily filled in with a black marker. Also ordered the matching changing table, will be putting that together tomorrow!
Delivery was timely. Description and pictures accurately represented. Have assembled the changing table went together easily and with no problems. Have not assembled the crib yet. There were a couple of small damage spots on the crib. Fortunately, we can repair with wood putty and paint. If not for this, would have rated higher.
Solid, white, simple crib...just what I wanted. I'm short (5') and hoped to find a low profile crib, this crib fills that need perfectly. I love the white color but did not like the black hardware, so I spray painted it all white to match. Lovely! Only issue, the crib came with no instructions and I've never assembled a crib so instructions seemd necessary! A few contacts with overstock yielded me an email with the necessary instructions.
I knew I wanted a Jenny Lind crib for our baby girl from about the moment we knew we were expecting. I initially purchased one made by another company, Angeline, sold by another online retailer. Long story short, upon arrival, the paint finish was bubbled in several areas and the Styrofoam packaging was even stuck to the crib in several places. I got my money back and ordered the DaVinci Jenny Lind crib from Overstock. Not only is the finish free of bubbling or other sorts of imperfections, the paint job looks much more professional. The finish on the Angeline crib was very glossy in a cheap sort of way, However, the finish on the DaVinci crib is a buttery smooth, satin finish. It's beautiful. I like the fact that the front panel of the crib can be removed so it can become a day bed. When the mattress is in the lowest position, I think this will make a fine toddler bed. The crib is lightweight enough that I carried some of the pieces up the stairs myself, and it was easy for my husband and I to assemble. My only complaint is that the giant warning stickers that are affixed to each end piece of the crib, on both sides, are difficult to remove. With some patience and some goo gone, I removed all traces of them from the exterior sides (the interior sides are not visible once assembled). I did not attach the cheap gold casters - there is really no need as the crib is light enough to move around. I also spray painted to tops of the included screws and washers (white) prior to assembly so that they did not stick out like sore thumbs - looks much better!
