  • Very, very disappointing

I purchased this rug 2 years ago and should have returned it immediately. Within a week, the rug had a haze over it from all the loose threads. I followed the manufacturer's directions and trimmed the ends, but it has continued to get worse. Now, after 2 years, the rug cannot be vacuumed at all. The loose threads are matted and the rug looks TERRIBLE. If a crumb or feather, string, etc falls on the rug, I cringe because I know it will literally have to be cut out of the matted threads. If I hadn't spent several hundred dollars on it, this rug would be on the curb tomorrow. I agree with a previous reviewer: if you want a rug that you can actually walk on, don't purchase this.

  • Pulls and Fuzz All Over
    Verified Purchase

I'm so disappointed! The rug is gorgeous when you first get it, but after a day there were already pulls like a sweater that got caught on something. The worst part is that after a month of use (and not heavy traffic) there is a layer of fuzz over the entire rug. I can't even vacuum it now because the fuzz gets wrapped around the roller in the vacuum and causes it jam. Basically, if you plan on walking on this rug you may want to think twice.

  • Beautiful color...but NOT dog friendly!

The colors of this rug are stunning. Our living/dining/kitchen is an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings. Since the walls and ceiling are painted with a light gray, we accented the end wall by painting it steel blue. This rug matched PERFECTLY! I wanted a transitional decor and the patterns in the rug achieved that...not too "flowery" and not too modern. The colors in the photo are very accurate. The price was a good bit more than I had wanted to pay but I had seen this exact rug on another website for an even higher price. My ONLY issue is that I didn't realize the rug is a loop pile; Hand Tufted = LOOPS. Actually, the label on the back of the rug says "Chinese Hand Hooked" so I'm not sure which is accurate. If you have ever owned a berber rug (and a dog or cat at the same time) then you know they get caught on pet nails. By the first day of use, we could already see little threads popping out. If I wasn't so in love with the rug patterns and colors, I would have returned it immediately. So now the question is how to deal with the loose fibers. The care instructions say: "If long ends appear; don't pull them." (Guess the manufacturer was expecting this.) "Use a pair of sharp scissors to carefully cut the ends even with the carpet." I haven't yet trimmed the ends. I'm actually considering trying to weave the threads back into the rug with a large-eye needle and similar color thread. Now that they holidays are over, it's time to work on that!
