Once you get it up to pressure it works great. I usually end up taking the top off and wiping seal every time. Since I have been using it longer, I have found that I do not have to remove the top and wipe the seal. Instead I wait and tap the pressure release button so that it protrudes. Compared to my other pressure cooker it tends to go almost dry and has gone dry. Without a pressure guage it''s harder to monitor. I am happy with it though.
This pressure cooker really does live up to its Americas test kitchen Best Buy rating. Not too heavy and easy to maneuver, clean, and open or close. Cooks great food (rice, beans, chicken soup, steamed vegetables) in a fraction of the time it would take in a regular pot.
