The cooktop works fine, my only complaint (and it turned out to be more of a problem than I thought) is that the temp does not lower in increments smaller than 25 which is too hot for some things like pancakes cook too fast or not well enough
I purchased this in order to have burners that pots can slide on. The grates are cast iron which mean the coating won't rub off like on all other gas stovetops I've owned. It would have cost nearly the same to replace my 4 worn out grates as it did to purchase a whole new stovetop. What I love: High quality look of stovetop. The big burner on the left has 2 rings of gas fire. It quickly boils water and produces high heat. In fact, all the burners are much better than my old stovetop. There are 3 grates which lie vertical - much less work to remove and clean around. They don't wobble. SS seems to clean up easy and doesn't leave water marks. The knobs are in front - not on the side taking up space. The knobs feel quality and heavy - nicer than the plastic ones Shipped in a secure box to protect stove. What I don't like (but I've learned to get over it!): All the burners fire to light when you try to ignite a single burner (an outcome of the cheaper price). The knobs are different than my old ones. You press, turn and hold for a few seconds and then release to ignite. The grates sit high off the stovetop. The metal ring around the gas burner is not rolled. When cleaning the stove, my finger slid under it and sliced it open. They also tend to discolor with use but I imagine a quick scour or spray with oven cleaner will remove it. The knob lighting symbols are painted onto the stove top surface. I have to be sure to NEVER use a magic eraser or abrasive cleaner. Installation tips: You may need to adjust the flame height after installation for optimum lighting. They give you solid directions on how to do this. Use the packaging materials to help protect your stovetop when installing it. The SS surface will scratch (like all metal surfaces). I installed this myself. Be sure to check and tighten all preinstalled gas lines before dropping in your stovetop. There is one piece that is loosely screwed on from the manufacturer and needs to have gas tape/sealant and tightened. I found out quickly after I turned the gas back on.
