My living room is small, so I leave the tables nested until I need more table space, then slide the smaller one out. Check measurements, they were a bit larger than I expected, but turned out perfect as tall coffee tables (I have tall sofas, so they worked great.) Nice, waterproof finish, looks like rough-hewn butcherblock.
I bought this to pair with the matching coffee table and it's a beautiful set. It didn't take long at all to put it together, and the directions were clear and concise. (I'm pretty good with putting things together, so I can't speak for anyone else in that respect.) I have both of the tables in my living space and they look lovely together. The top of the coffee table had a little bit of a dent in it (I covered it up with a table runner) and the glossy surface shows fingerprints, so be careful if you have any little ones in the house. I'd definitely recommend using coasters on the surfaces if you put drinks on it, and be careful because the surface can scratch easily. Otherwise, they're both very sturdy and the design on the sides make them versatile for different decor. It's a good idea to dry dust, then wet dust, so any stray particles don't accidentally scratch up the surfaces. They're great for storage (I have board games under the coffee table and books under the end table!) and work great in a smaller space, like my studio apartment.
