  • great lounge chairs
    Verified Purchase

I bought these a couple of years ago and they're holding up nicely. very comfy and stylish. I also bought long pads to go on top, but most of the time I don't even use the pads. They look great with just a single pillow on top, but that's not required for comfort (just a touch of color).

After a year of usage the screws rotted out and it collapsed. The wicker also cracked very easily. They looked so beautiful at first but definitely are not worth the money.

  • These Chairs Are The Worst!
    Verified Purchase

These chairs are the worst! Do not buy them. I have only had them for 3 summers and they are literally falling apart.

  • Look good out of the box, but aren't durable.

I suppose this is a long term user review. While the design is good and the chairs are comfy the frame and the hardware are the weak link. The hardware is not suitable for outdoor conditions and even if you replace it with stainless, the frame will rot to dust in about 3 years. I have two of these that I purchased almost 3 years ago to the day and they are not unusable for the 2016 pool season. Literally the frames on the rear legs have rotten to the point that they can be crushed with bare hands. Considering that these are designed for outdoor use it is reasonable to expect that they'd be more durable. However they are cheaply made in China with no care as to repeat business. The good looks suckered me once. Never again. BTW, a question about rust was asked in the Q&A section and whomever answered it from Overstock said there was nothing in the materials that would rust. Was it poor training or deceptive practices, I'm not sure, but they've got my last order.

These lounge chairs are great with the exception of water collecting in the metal pieces, causing rusty stains on the patio

  • Not happy

I would not recommend these chairs to anyone. Purchase from Front Gate instead. I purchased six for my poolside. The hardware is not stainless steel and rusts. Overstock paid for the new screws that I now have to replace delicately. The hardware now I am discovering is rusting on the inside frames and leaving rust marks on my pool deck. For a over $$$- chair this should not be happening. Shame on me, for not researching more.

  • Looks great, rusty water leaks

These chairs look beautiful, and are very comfortable. Our pool area looks fantastic. BUT, we live in south Georgia, high humidity and rain central. The nuts holding the hardware in place is already rust covered. You can't really see this on general appearance, but looking at the back of the chair it is readily visible. We have owned these for about 2 months now. The way the legs are the chair will collapse if you try and slide it forward or back, this has been an issue for my kids. There is not a mechanism for the chair legs to lock. The worst thing, as pointed out by the previous reviewer is that the internal components are steel. They drip rusty water whenever we go and try and move them. We have near white Kool Deck around out pool, and if we are not vigilant and rinse off the rust drippings, it stains the floor badly. For the money, these look fantastic. I thought I was being smart and saving some money, but learned a lesson. We will use these this season, and next year get teak. If you have a dark deck, live where it is dry, these are great chairs.

  • Very Attractive and Comfortable Lounge Chairs
    Verified Purchase

As another reviewer wrote, I also thought these identical chairs were available on Frontgate -- but for considerably more money. I didn't hesitate to order them from when I saw the better price; however... I failed to compare the measurements of both offerings. Because I thought the chairs from both retailers were the same, I ordered the custom-fit pads from Frontgate. When the pads arrived, I realized the chairs were NOT the same dimensions. The chairs from Frontgate taper toward the foot and are 2 inches narrower that the chairs I purchased from Overstock. Because mine are wider at the foot, the Velcro strap wouldn't wrap around and attach underneath, and they clearly don't look exactly right because the pads taper and the chair width does not. Lesson learned. Compare the measurements! That said, however, I wouldn't be surprised if the chairs from Frontgate were made in China with the very same materials these are made of (also made in China... isn't everything??) Quality seems above-average overall and they are extremely attractive to look at. Comfortable, but the pads are a must -- and it's too bad that Overstock didn't offer nice Sunbrella fabric custom cushions to go with them (as Frontgate does with theirs). Time will tell as to how long these chairs will hold up under our hot desert sun. We are probably going to make covers for them, just in case!

  • Rust
    Verified Purchase

The chairs were exxpensive and are comfortable. However, the hardware that was used to put them together is starting to rust. Hence, I can't leave the chairs on my pool deck but rather need to leave them on the grass. You would have thought they manufacturer would have used stainless steel screws as opposed to regular screws which rust. An inexpensive inprovement but I cannot recommend these chairs due to the rusting issue. Getting the rush stains off my pool deck was difficult.

Questions & Answers

  • Q:

"Have you addressed the complaint of the hardware rusting? Does this appear to still be a problem?"

    • A:

Hello kfdundas, if you have any problems at all please contact customer service right away and we will get it taken care of immediately. Thank you for shopping with us.

    • A:

Right out of the box I sprayed all 8 locking screws with no rust clear spray. Many rain storms later. so far so good

    • A:

Took the advice below and sprayed clear spray on screws.. no problem as of yet

    • A:

The hardware isn't the only weak link in these chairs. The frame is iron that has been painted to standards I've come to expect from anything made in China...that is it's crap. The frame (specifically the feet) turn to dust after only a few seasons and they are unusable. I paid $** for a pair and 3 years later they are going to the trash heap. That's $**/year per chair for use that I now must replace. Pure junk. Spend more on good furniture that will last.

  • Q:

"Will these chairs need to be stored from the outside for the winter? I live in OK and wonder if they will survive our winter."

    • A:

Hi smitty74, these chairs are weather resistant but I would store them for the winter. They may be UV protected but the snow may damage the integrity over time due to stress and constant weight. Hope this helps. Thanks for shopping with us.

  • Q:

"How can you not at least provide what the frame is made of? There is no way I would buy steel or powder coated steel as it will rust. I need to know if the frame is aluminum. This is a very basic question. If you can't answer such a basic question I don't understand how you can sell the item in the first place."

    • A:

Thank you for your question fldi. The frame is iron. Please feel free to contact us again with any further questions.

    • A:

I received a reply from Overstock stating the frame is iron. That is a definite no go for me here in FL. Iron requires repainting every 18 months. No idea how you would even accomplish that on a piece of furniture that has resin wicker wrapped around it.

  • Q:

"Is this chair manufactured by Noble House Furnishings and sold under "Christopher Knight"?"

    • A:

Unfortunately, we are unable to disclose the manufacturer of some of our products; however, stands behind every product we sell. When necessary we can contact suppliers if a product issue arises. Thank you.

  • Q:

"I need to know if the frame has any component that can rust"

    • A:

      No, it does not.

    • A:

You're *** right they rust. The legs turn to dust after about 3 years of use. Want proof? I have photos of a pair I bought 4/13 that now must be thrown away because the legs have rotted. At $**/pair, that's $** per chair, per summer. Not a bargain in my book. Last time I'll purchase and hopefully my experience will help you not to waste your money.

  • Q:

"What is the frame material --- aluminum or steel?"

    • A:

The product information shows that this has a PE wicker frame.

    • A:

The frame is not PE Wicker. The webbing may be, but the frame is poorly painted iron that rusts through in about 3 seasons. Stay away.

  • Q:

"Did you answer what the weight limit is on these chairs?"

    • A:

The weight limit is 250 pounds.

  • Q:

"Do these go completely flat so I can lie on my stomach?"

    • A:

Yes, these will lay completly flat.

  • Q:

"Is this the same item as the Item #: 13468634? Are the legs can be folded to stack the chairs?"

    • A:

It appears the items are similar, but have different model numbers. The legs on the chairs do not fold.

  • Q:

"How heavy are they? We have strong winds and I don't want them to blow around."

    • A:

The shipping weight for both chairs is 70 pounds, which would make the chairs approximately 35 pounds each.

  • Q:

    "are these stackable?"

    • A:

      These chairs are stackable.

  • Q:

"What dimensions should I use to order cushions for these chaise lounge chairs?"

    • A:

A standard lounger cushion would work. It just has to meet the following dimensions for an accurate fit: 13.78 inches high x 27.56 inches wide x 79.53 inches long.

  • Q:

"H much weight will this chaise hold?"

    • A:

At least about 300 pounds. One evening, both my husband and I shared one chair and it was fine.
