Plastic is ok, but metal rusts easily, so wouldn't recommend

First of all, it IS plastic, so I definitely wouldn't recommend using it to scoop hard ice cream. Second of all, I don't think I would recommend this at all due to food contamination risk. The metal is NOT stainless steel, so which means it rusts easily and can get into your ice cream(or whatever food you use it for) and contaminate it. It started to rust after only 1-2 uses and washes, so therefor because I opened and used it, I cannot return it, but I would not buy this again. I guess you get what you pay for.
