Ordered one to be sure it was what we wanted. The Slipcover is well made and the black is very attractive; a very good option to buying new chairs because of decor change. My chairs were from Pier I and well constructed but the burnished brown color no longer worked in the dining room. Slipcovers over the vinyl/leather resulted in fabric "moving" when sitting/rising from the chair. Opened up my sewing machine to make the back a bit tighter - and added velcro to the underside of the seat to "stabilize" the fabric. Works beautifully! If this slipcover was placed over upholstery the adjustment would probably not be needed. Another hint: A dowel pushed into the crease between back and seat will keep the fabric from moving. Ordered 3 more for the other chairs.
I was very excited to find a chair slipcover that was simple, clean and not to dainty for the dining room. Shipping was fast and each slipcover was packaged separately. However I was underwhelmed by the herringbone design. I wished the patterned popped a bit more. Also the length of slipcovers did cover all of the chair legs - as shown on the picture. I will be sending them back.
I purchased 4 of these about a year ago for my ladderback kitchen chairs. Though in the Overstock photo it shows the slipcover as being quite fitted, for my style of chairs there was extra roominess . . . a good thing for me, as there is no ruffle in the back of the slipcover, so I was able to pull the sides around before tying it off. Now it looks like the ruffle goes all the way around. My chairs are painted white, so it cannot see them through the slipcovers, but I would say the slipcovers would provide pretty good coverage for a natural wood chair.
