Story behind the art:

My name is Zoila Davila and I was born on April 23, 1949. All my childhood and until I finished high school I lived with my parents, I studied the art of making cloth flowers for wreaths, among other things, little by little the interest in crafts was growing up, and studied all the courses I could, until I got to pottery, which was not very difficult for me to learn and I fell completely in love. I started living from what I liked to do, ceramics, there was a very difficult time when our country changed currency, that affected me a lot since by then I already had three children to support, and fulfill the role of father and mother. But try to cope with all the difficulties in order to fulfill my goals, such as obtaining the title of my land lot, and getting more clients. I have been working in ceramics for 28 years, With a lot of imagination I started to create different models at the beginning, it took me a bit like everything at the beginning, until after about a year I did it. Most of my learning I achieved alone, making mistakes and starting again, after many years I began to teach ceramics, in schools and to elderly men, currently I work with red clay, the most interesting thing about this art, is that each model is a challenge, getting the product you imagined is sometimes more laborious than it seems. I always worked with my children, until little by little I was left alone, my oldest daughter was in charge of creating new models, my son was in charge of looking for new clients, and my youngest daughter was helping me with the painting of the pieces; but in the end we all ended up reaching into production, preparing parts, burn and paint; all this in order to offer our customers the quality they expect.
