I basically think this fan is pretty good, with reservations. It was relatively easy to install, it is the perfect size for my small dinning room and it has added some modern pazzaz to my 1970's house. So over all I can say it is appealing. On the negative side, it is made out of very thin metal. We used an escucian at the top of the fan for added stability and sematry. The fan blades are press board with laminated wood grain paper, so extra care is needed when cleaning. But my biggest complaint is the housing for the moter rubs against its cover if you use the pull chains on either side to controll the lights or the fan while the fan is running. My husband (a design engineer) says this is a design flaw that he can correct with some gaskets, but come on, shouldn't that come with the product that costs this much? So its up, it looks nice, it moves the air around, I don't have big complaints, but it could be better.
This ceiling fan looks amazing. We bought 2, one for the kitchen which has low ceilings and one for a stairwell. They both look great in each location. The color is more a solid really dark brown which I love. The bulbs that came with the fan were too dim for us, so we switched them out for LED daylight bulbs and now they give out a good amount of light. We have a low ceiling in our kitchen, the fan gives out a nice amount of air for the size of the fan, but it is more a column of air, if you stand underneath it, it's strong but you don't really feel it unless you are underneath it. This is fine for us as we primarily wanted it for the light in the kitchen and having a fan at all is a bonus, it helps keep the air moving. We put the second one in a regular size stairwell, and decided to only use the downrod that came with the unit. We changed out the bulbs to LED bulbs and the light it puts out is great, we also wanted something that was open to make changing bulbs easier. You can easily fit your hand between the sections to change the bulbs. If we stand at the bottom of our stairs, and the fan is on high we can feel the air moving. Again it's more like a column of air, but what's great is that it is pulling hot air from the upstairs and circulating it. It's summer here and we don't have air conditioning. Before installing the stairwell fan when you went upstairs it was always at least 10+ degrees warmer. The fan is pulling in the hot air from upstairs keeping things circulating. It seems to be pulling air in from at least 10-15 feet away. We couldn't fit any other size ceiling fan in this stairwell so we are quite pleased with how it looks and how well it is working. The remotes work well, we have two of these fans and set the remotes up so they both work on both fans or you can have one remote for each fan.
Love my fan it goes well with my décor. The blades are a bit short, having a 52" was an adjustment to see a smaller one. But I do love it. The only grip is the pull chain is not silver, I think if it came with silver chain and crystal pull at the end it would be Perfect.
