I really like this fan. It looks great and fits nicely over my dining table. The instillation was problem free. For such a small fan it cools my apartment very well.
I couldn't give this fandelier a 5 star because of the strands of crystals (30 of them) that have to be attached by the purchaser. It took me two tedious hours to thread the fine wire (breaks easily) through 30 small holes on the bottom of the crystal base and then another 30 tiny little key chain type rings to the tiny holes on the top of the crystal base. The crystals kept falling off and I had to use needle nose pliers to tighten the wire at each crystal. Despite my whining and complaining for the two hours I spent attaching the crystals I must admit this fandelier is very pretty. It is a deep shiny brown and the blades are metal with a wood grain. The blades are not shiny. My decor is traditional/Mediterranean and the fan gives the room elegance and bling. I'm buying two more today for my two other bedrooms. Maybe it won't take me so long to attach the crystal strands with the two new fans.
This fan has a small diameter, but with the surround, it looks large and really makes a statement in the room. It feels more like a large ceiling light but it's a fan. It doesn't move a whole lot of air, but it's only 30in. It can get pretty fast and works quiet.
The overall style and operation of the fan is very good. I like the transitional style of the burnished blades and the stainless trims, however, if you need the light - this fan is not for you. The light uses two 40 watt incandescent bulbs, but I have never seen such dim lighting ....it is actually less than you would expect from a night light. I am sorry to say, I think we may actually have to take it down, as I am relying on it to be the ceiling light in our bedroom....
