First off, I was thrilled that I could purchase a base for my 48" round glass top. I had assumed that I would have to purchase a complete table...base and top. Getting down to the base itself; its perfect!! The wood looks to be mahogany (a very sturdy hardwood) and its stained a medium/dark walnut color. The bolts and other hardware pieces used to assemble it are also of a good quality and it was simple to put together. Once assembled it was perfectly balanced with each of the four legs being the same length. There is a shelf where the four legs attach and since my top is glass I put a large, colorful glass bowl on it which catches the light and adds color to the table setting. I would definitely recommend the base!

We are coupling some walnut chairs with this for a mid-century look. Love the table base, bought our glass top elsewhere. Easy to assemble, sturdy, no visible nicks. We added felt to the feet, which are just wood to floor. We like it!!

When I purchased this item overstock described it as the entire table for sale not the base. I had to purchase the table top from a local dealer but overall I am satisfied with the item. I give a minus one star for the inconvenience and the wrong information. By the way table top is not sold on overstock but consider other online stores because this is a nice table.

I found some chairs I loved at another site and this matched them perfectly, in color and style! I thought it would be a hassle to find the glass tabletop but I found one easily at a store near me. The table s beautiful.

Really pleased with the quality and simple style of this base! Also really like how my legs/feet fall under the table base as a taller person. (Don’t have to worry about knocking my knees or ankles on the legs.) Would recommend!
