I love this buffet. I am using as a tv stand. Took a long time to put together, but I’m very pleased with finished product. It is particle board and not an expensive piece, but it looks like it is once it’s complete. Affordable and attractive. I am happy with my purchase.

Looks just like the pictures. My husband was able to put it together himself, even sick as a dog. My only concern is that I'm not sure how well it's going to hold up even with very minimal use. Edges scuff easily.

Great for the price
I looked high and low for a tv stand for our bedroom, that had to be less than 42'' wide. We decided to give Overstock a shot as most places like *** don't have what we needed. It looks just like the website photos in person, knowing that it is really dark. Since all of our furniture is light colored oak, this piece doesn't go well in our bedroom and I came up with some painting ideas, went with the white faces like the 1st image I show here. The material is MDF with stained wood veneer faces and plastic veneer on the edges, normal for the price. The installation instruction was very clear, spent about 3 hours by myself putting it together, end it up with 3 extra screws. I make my own furniture too, was surprised to find out that it came with wood dowels and gruel for stronger connections! On step 8, I left the screws out, finished step 10 and 11 first, and then put the screws into the bottom piece E while it sat on its top during step 12.

Great item for the price
This piece is very inexpensive compared to other similar items, and it is well worth the money. Obviously is it not the highest quality materials, but it is very high quality for the type of materials it is. It is strong and sturdy, and it is pretty easy to assemble. The instructions are detailed and thorough, and they are in logical order. Everything is also well labeled and packaged, and I had all of the pieces needed (no extras). All of the predrilled holes lined up where they needed to be. It says 2 person assembly, but I did it 99% myself, and I am 28 weeks pregnant (I'm the handy one in my marriage). I just needed my husband to tip it over and to hold the door while I attached it. It is really lovely once assembled. I highly recommended this product as an inexpensive choice for a stylish item if you have a small budget. You won't be disappointed.

It took some time, but it was worth it!
My fiancée built this in about 2 hours. The instructions were clear and pieces were identified. You must have some experience with building furniture to do this, but you don't have to be an expert. We absolutely love this piece! It looks way more expensive than it was.

No you cannot switch the side of the cabinet. We would not recommend making any changes to the design.

The length for the legs of this buffet is 7.3”

The back legs are approximately 1 in from leg to edge of cabinet and 3.5 from leg to cabinet on sides

"What does the inside of this piece look like? Is there a shelf inside the door and can it be assembled without the door, as an open shelf?"

There is a shelf inside the door. The door could be left off. The inside of the piece is fully finished. I will say that it took us a couple of days of working on assembling the piece since I was prepping another house for sale. It was not easy to assemble and it takes two people. The tools come with the piece, however, we use our own socket wrenches because they were easier for some of the assembly. We are in our 70's and have assembled a complicated desk, patio furniture, tables, chairs, lounge chairs, etc. all in the last year for two houses. A suggestion, laying out the pieces on the floor in order of assembly is helpful.

Yes it is possible to change the hardware but the knobs provided are nice and go perfectly with the look of the cabinet. Same knobs we had on a dining room buffet when I was a kid (true mid century!)
