This is the third Caldera rug we've ordered for our home, and I have to disagree with the previous reviewer and say I think these rugs are fantastic! We have an older home with all wood floors--add a baby learning to crawl into the mix and you need plenty of good, soft, durable area rugs.
I have one in the nursery, one in the play room, and now this one in the family room. I think they are high-quality and look very nice. In fact, I get compliments on them all the time, several times from visitors with much more expensive taste than we can afford. They are soft to the touch and offer good padding for our son when he topples over while learning to sit and crawl. I usually toss a couple of blankets on top of them during play time to make clean up faster, but they are easy to vacuum, hide stains well, and best of all don't show pet hair.
I was a little worried about how the ivory color would look, especially after reading the comment about the dark backing. The other two colors we have are the green and steel (blue-gray). I have to say though, I think the ivory is my favorite! The backing on ours is cream, so maybe the manufacturer fixed that problem. The backside of the rug that touches the floor is the same heavy denim-like fabric that the others have, and that is a dark navy color, but it does not show through at all. The top backing that faces up is cream and blends with the ivory shag. (fyi, I love the underside backing as it is heavy enough not to require a rubber grip mat on our wood floors. These rugs don't slide, and believe me, we do a lot of rolling and playing on ours).
If you have hard surface floors, young children, and pets, I highly recommend these rugs.
