This generator compares very favorably with a Yamaha 3000 that I had a few years ago. The noise level seems to be about the same, very quiet for this size unit. It is also lighter by about 40 pounds. It powers my trailer A/C very nicely. The remote start/stop, which the Yamaha did not have, is a very nice feature. The best and last comment is this unit cost about half of the Yamaha.
Champion Power Equipment 75531i, 3100-watt Portable Gas Inverter Generator Edit Review This is a second review. I've owned this generator for over two seasons now and I've used it on several trips during 97 degree weather with no hookups and it has performed flawlessly! The remote start feature is great! The generator powers everything and it starts and runs my 13,500 BTU Dometic ac unit on my 2012 travel trailer from eco mode effortlessly. Love it!! Great Inverter Generator! Champion Power Equipment 75531i, 3100-watt Portable Gas Inverter Generator Reviewed June 2, 2016 Ordered this from Overstock.com as they had the best price and it arrived in less than a week. Great job by Champion as the generator was well packaged and protected. This is my second Champion generator and my experience with the first one is very favorable. I added 10W-30 oil as directed and about one gallon of 9 month old gasoline that was initially treated with a fuel stabilizer. The generator fired right up and I put different size loads on it (600, 900, 1500 watts) as was suggested for the initial 5 hour break in period. I had no problems restarting the generator after shutting it down. I tried all three methods of starting the generator, remote, electric push button and manual pull and they all worked fine. The battery recharges itself when the generator is running, but when it is stored for long periods of time without using it, Champion has included a plug in "smart" charger. Nice touch! After the 5 hour break in period, I changed oil as recommended. Break in oil was very clean! After break in period, I hooked up generator to my 2012 travel trailer with a 13,500 btu Dometic AC unit and it started & ran the AC almost effortlessly, drawing 11 amps & maintaining 125 volts. I bet it would run my trailers microwave at the same time! Should have tried it! Great gen set!
