I bought this to replace a table in a smaller kitchen. It looks great and I get comments on it all the time. Very easy to put together, I sanded the top smooth and added butcher block oil and it looks and feels magnificent. The price is also very nice!
The height of this station is perfect for me, since I'm short. It is too heavy for one person(female) to put together by herself, but it went together fairly fast. The only reason I was very disappointed with this item, was the butcher block top. The underneath side is beautiful; the blocks are without blemish. The top, however has several blemishes in it and it's the one with the groove and no holes for the legs - they are on the underneath side, so you cannot just turn it over. I didn't return it just because it's way too heavy and I didn't want to bother with putting it back in the box and trying to get it to a UPS station. This is definitely a "seconds" item.
The butcher block workcenter is the perfect size for our small kitchen, a quality wood product of solid construction. We would have rated it 5-star except it was missing a bag of 12 screws and the directions were a bit unclear and hard to follow. We bought new screws and once we got it built, we are very pleased with the end result.
This is a fantastic addition to my kitchen! I needed a new microwave cart and this is the perfect addition to my work center. It's BIG! My KitchenAid stand mixer also fits on the top, and I have plenty of room to store stainless bowls and recipe books on the shelves. It has a very beefy hardwood butcher-block top, it's gorgeous! My husband and son put it together for me in about 1.5 hrs and it is very sturdy - no wobbling with ours! The drawer is useful for smaller cookbooks that tend to end up on the floor since they don't fit well with full-sized cookbooks. There's plenty of room left for my rolling pins, tea towels and other odd items in this roomy drawer. I highly recommend this harvest table. Mine is against a wall partially, and partially in front of a sliding patio door. It would work well as a kitchen island, too. It looks exactly like the large photo, a thick butcher block top with rounded edges. Very well made and the top is VERY heavy, so it's not something you should try to move without assistance! I hope they are able to get additional pieces by this manufacturer - very high quality and made in the USA!
