First off, this bar is great and looks exactly like the photos. We ordered the Light Oak version and couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. It took my wife and I about 1hr 30min to fully build once we got all the pieces unpacked. The biggest issues we had were some of the numbers painted on the sides of each piece looked like they had a stroke. The number 5 looked more like a trapezoid than a number. We seriously couldn't read half of them and had to guesstimate looking at the instruction book. The instruction book was also a nightmare as it didn't really show the orientation of the pieces and removed some of the imagery for no reason. For example, one of the pieces has a sliding metal piece connected to it for the drawers however that piece is removed from the illustrations within the instruction book so you can't tell if the piece should be facing one way or the other. It was very frustrating but once completed we truly love this piece of furniture and it is very sturdy. I highly recommend using an electric screw driver or drill for all of the installation besides the glass on the sliding door, that should be done by hand to avoid breaking the plastic pieces or glass. I think that really helped speed up our build.
This product has a very reasonable price which is what I was looking to spend. So you can't expect the highest quality. But it doesn't look shabby or cheap. It's neat and cute. My only complaint is that the manual had the worst directions ever for putting this thing together. I prefer manuals that combine pictures with words giving you directions. Also these directions did not give any warnings about how to orient the pieces to prevent you from putting pieces on backwards or upside-down. So what ended up happening, after I had put most of it together, the adjustable shelf wouldn't sit properly. Only then did I realize that in step 1 I had put the side panel on upside-down so the holes did not line up! This was rather frustrating because if I flip it now, there will be holes left from the nails I used to put on the back panel showing on the front! So be careful when putting this thing together.
The assembly took a while, but it's fairly easy if you pay close attention to the orientation to some of the parts. The veneer looks really good but we'll see how well it stands up to use. The doors close really nicely and it looks great overall. Keep in mind that only one type of wine bottle will fit in the bottle holders. We've had at least 3 bottles that looked like they'd fit (standard size) but because they're slightly different, they won't. There's also some wasted space behind the bottle storage, I'm thinking of cutting a hole in the back and using that to store cords/power strips.
After reading the reviews I was a little skeptical but for the price I figured why not. And yes this piece will take a while to assembly and I suggest being patient and focused but in the end for a little over $* it's great. It can scratch easy the wood veneer area so take caution when assembling. If you never put together anything then I would probably not but but if you are detail oriented and want a cool looking piece for a great price then it's a steal.
