My daughter bought it first with the hutch and I was so surprised by the quality I ordered the buffet for myself. It's almost all solid wood which is difficult to find anymore. It was delivered in 2 flat, heavy boxes and had to be put together. When I followed the directions EXACTLY in the order they were written I was able to safely put it together by myself. The directions are very good and everything is labeled and matched up perfectly. One box arrived damaged and so the top had a dent and the wine glass rack was broke. I took pictures and emailed to the number on the box and received two replacements within a week without any hassle. I did not mind at all considering the amazing price of the item also included the freight which could have cost several hundred dollars alone. The 4 adjustable shelves can be turned over if you want less wine rack and more storage. I was able to hang 15 wine and water goblets on the glass rack (would depend on size of glasses) The drawers are 10.5" deep. If you want a beautiful piece of furniture and don't mind putting some effort into it (and have a little patience if it arrives damaged) I highly recommend.
Buffet was easy to assemble. Spacious inside with plenty of room for 10 piece dining set and linens. The top of the buffet is large enough to be used as a serving surface for several dishes and the height is perfect. I had a piece of tempered glass made to fit on top to protect the surface. I was so pleased with the buffet I have just ordered another one!
I bought this table in hopes that it matched my espresso dining room table set and yes, it does. It looks elegant in my dining room. The UPS driver helped my boyfriend bring it in the house because the box was so heavy, trust me he more than appreciated the help. It took several hours for me to put it together by myself, the instructions were ALL pictures and confusing at times. All of the pieces and parts were there and none were damaged. I did make a modification to the buffet because I wanted one that had the wine glass rack as well as the wine bottle holder and this was the one I kept coming back to after looking at more than 20 of them of different sites. So I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and bought a wine glass rack. I didn't install one of the doors on the buffet because I wanted to display my glasses next to the wine bottles so installed the rack on one side of the buffet and it looks very nice, like it came that way. NOTE: I wasn't aware that the middle piece of the buffet was hollow so it didn't take much to drill holes in it to install the rack....I did not go through it but it shocked me that it was hollow when I drilled the first hole and it hit the other side of the board (lucky me I didn't go through it but I didn't put as much pressure on it when drilling the other 3 holes). So if you stall anything or want to modify it like I did please be careful because you can ruin your beautiful buffet. Once put together it is heavy and I needed help getting it to the spot where I wanted it. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and I keep going in the dining room to look at it because it looks so nice with my addition.
The piece is great just what we wanted, the color is a perfect antique white. Drawer bottoms are a little thin and not wood. Anything heavy like silverware etc, will bend it and go right through. So if you are intending to buy it as a true buffet, you might want to go get real wood and cut it to fit. There is enough gap at the bottom of the drawer for a thin layer of wood. I glued bottom in place, then cut a separate piece for the inside of the drawer and glued from the inside much more sturdy. Everything went together in no time at all, everything is clearly marked even the drawer slides have a the left right stamped into them. Solid material, not real wood but a hard wood product. A little bit of roughness around the glass cut outs, but it kind of added to the antiqued look. This was intended to be a Christmas gift, but after the condition the shipping boxes were in I had to open it to make sure there was no damage. It comes as two boxes, and I was not notified that they had even shipped. I received a text saying it arrived, at the house, then 15 minutes later an email saying it shipped. So must of been Mr. C delivering as he is the only one who could deliver it before it even shipped. Upon look at the boxes, they used very thin packing tape around the edges of the boxes. No shipping plastic bands around either of the boxes. So it is a Christmas miracle that all the piece were in the box, and that nothing was damaged even though one of the boxes only had one side of tape left and holding it closed. I don't fault Overstock on the packaging, as it probably came from the manufacture not them. Worth it if you can get it under the *** mark. And about *** cheap than the box store selling it. I don't think it will be a piece that is built for the long haul, or many moves. But the wife is happy, and that is all that matters.
