I bought two of this. They bed looks good. But a few slabs on one of the bed were broken in two year. We bought replacements from home depot.

We have this bed for a few years now. We assemble it every time we have visitors, otherwise it is stored in our garage disassembled. Very nice bed for guests. So far we did not have anyone heavy sleeping on it.

    • Extremely Poor Quality Bed

I bought this bed for my kid as part of redecorating his room for his B'day, so the timing was crucial. But the bed came apart as I was trying to assemble it. The parts had visible cracks when I was taking it out of the box. The parts that did not have cracks also chipped off as I trying to screw the frame together (with hand without any power tools). As the bed was meant for my kid I could not take chance of making him sleep on such a poor quality furniture. I expected better of Overstock's quality. Very disappointed.

Very happy with it. Not crap like the bigbox stores, it's actually solid wood and if you have quality tools at home it's a simple setup

    • Great solid functional twin bed.

      Option: Honey Pine

Arrived in compact box and was very easy to put together. Took about an hour of unboxing and assembly. One could do it but easier with two. Thought it could use a few more slats on the bottom, but guess the mattress won't poke through too bad. We have a 13 inch mattress on ours for my 94 year young dad and so far no issues with the mattress sliding. Like the fact that it is solid wood and not pressed fiberboard, so no formaldehyde smell.

Very happy with this bed in our small extra bedroom. Bought hoping that our vacuum would easily work under the bed....it does!

Get what you pay for is the prime example here. Took my son about 2 hrs to put together. Slats in bed did not line up, pieces were somewhat warped (the box did not sit outside in inclement weather either) and its got cheap looking bolts that show. Side piece is actually 2 pieces joined together by the leg seen. My son is 5'9", 120lbs and, after having this for about 2 months, the center leg gave out and busted in half, split the wood piece, the bolts came out and not sure that even replacing the side piece will fix the bed again. Otherwise, the color is true and it looks nice (when fully made and you cant see the side bolts).

    Questions & Answers

    • Q:

"What is the reason for the bed frames width? Why so much wider than a twin mattress?"

      • A:

It's only 2 and 1/2 inches wider than the memory foam mattress I bought. That's only 1 and 1/4 inches on each side, the width of the frame. The mattress sits just inside the frame.

    • Q:

"I am trying to find the bedrails (for my toddler) which are pictured above, but I cannot seem to find a link. Does anyone know where to find them?"

      • A:

Unfortunately the bed rails are not available at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience we might have caused.

    • Q:

"Does anyone have an idea of the weight limit for the bed? We're using it in a sunroom and might have several people sitting on it"

      • A:

Hello Bonnie P., we do not currently weight test items. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for shopping with us.

    • Q:

"what is the clearance under the bed in inches?"

      • A:

Hello hconway, the clearance from the floor to the bottom of the rail is approximately 11 3/4 inches. Thank you for shopping with us.

    • Q:

"My son is currently 6'1", is this still too short for him? Also can it us an air foam mattress, the one we purchase from you that was developed for astronauts? Thank you."

      • A:

6 feet translates to 72 inches. As a twin size bed is about 75 inches, I would go with a longer bed (and possibly wider for growing room) so he is more comfortable. I have an Uncle who is 6'2" and he can't sleep on anything but a Queen because everything else is just too small.

      • A:

Hello nywall17, the bed is approximately 6.6 feet deep. It would be a tight fit. You may want to consider item # 14319228 - it is an XL twin that boasts 80 inches of length. I hope this info helps. Thanks for shopping with us!

    • Q:

"Can this bed be used with both a box spring and mattress for more comfort? We have been using wood slats and no box spring now and don't like it much."

      • A:

Hello snowbabies4, yes your mattress will just sit higher. Have a great day!

      • A:

You can certainly use the box spring. The only thing to consider is how much of a headboard will remain to be visible. Considering that the height from the slats is about 23"-24", with an 6" box spring and an 8" mattress, for instance, there will be about 10" left. Thank you!
