Cheap, does not work well, difficult to use, hot to handle, does not raise toast up for easy extraction.

This little toaster is very powerful. I burnt my toast the first time I used it. Look out the toast comes up flying.

I purchased this particular toaster because it was available in black and it was narrow enough to fit into the small space I had available to it. Its performance is only adequate. It toasts unevenly, and getting even toast requires running it once at a very light setting, turning the bead, putting it through again. And it is hard to determine ahead of time how long something needs to be toasted. Bialies need to be put through twice at the top setting, while slices of French or Italian bread start to burn quickly at a low setting. On the plus side, there is a little button under the selector dial that allows you to pop up the toast at will. There are two other rather annoying things about the toaster: The dial used to select the darkness setting has no indicator on it to show which of the little dots it set at. You have to move it all the way to one side or the other and then just guess when you have the desired setting. Also, when the toast pops up, whether automatically or because you've pushed the little button, it jumps completely out of the slots and can land anywhere.
