Braided Jute Handmade Rug - 5' x 8'

I'm very pleased with the rug. Pet fur doesn't show up so obviously on this rug as it does on dark rugs. The color is slightly different than my monitor shows. It's actually a neutral beige with some variation, but it doesn't have a yellow or peachy undertone like I thought it might. The rug is about 1/4" thick. I also like it because it provides sort of an optical illusion - it makes my room seem bigger. The rectangular braiding pattern seems like it's expanding outward at you.

This is a nice rug, but the "jute" used isn't like what you see in the more expensive versions of this style... it's more like braided hairs and doesn't hold up to wear and tear very well. Next time I'll spend the extra $ and get something that is more heavy duty.

GORGEOUS RUG! I purchased this rug because I had read jute/sisal rugs are great for cat owners. While I haven't been able to review that aspect of things, I will tell you that the rug is BEAUTIFUL. It looks much, much better than the picture. It has been laid on my floor for over a week now, and it's lying flat. It's partially under a couch. If it was not, I would need an anti-skid grippy rug underneath for sure. Incredibly hapy with the neutral simplicity of this rug. I will probably order more in different sizes for the rest of my space. The only con I can manage to summon is that my feet are rather sensitive (remember those sandals with all the little bumpies on the sole? Those were very painful for my feet), and the weave of this rug is just a *little bit* on the hard side, but this is more of an accent rug than one I stand on frequently, so not a dealbreaker - I'd rather this than a looser weave that falls apart!

I love this rug. I put it under my kitchen table, and it adds a texture to the room. It is not hard on the feet. I would recommend buying a thing rug pad to go under this rug to keep it in place.

This rug is great looking and stylish and the price can't be beat. The color is a little darker than it appears on my computer screen, and certainly less yellow/gold. It's a wonderful medium toned, warm neutral that goes great with my oak floors and brick fireplace. The color variences are more pronounced than in the picture, but I expected that and I think it's part of the charm of a natural rug. There are a few spots in the rug that look a little unsightly where the jute appears to have been stitched over repeatedly. These were less noticeable once I put some furniture on it. Still, I wonder how these areas will hold up to wear. The rug laid flat after a quick once over with the vacuum. I wouldn't call the rug soft exactly, but it's certainly not unpleasant to walk on in bare feet. Mine was "dirty" when I received it, as other reviewers have mentioned, but I've found that the dirt and particles drop straight through as you walk on it, and after a short period of time all the loose dirt will fall out and it will no longer be a problem. I did not notice any odd or offensive odors. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase. I have looked at many braided jute rugs and I am convinced that you cannot find better quality at this price point.

This rug is perfect. I shopped all over at places like Pottery Barn and World Market. Overstock was cheaper and I like this rug better than any of the others. I was a little worried the "X" shown in the picture (from the braiding pattern) would be ugly but it is barely noticable. Looks great under dining room table and is soft to walk on.

Great rug. Tightly braided weave; each course of braiding tightly sewn to the next so I expect this to stand up well to high traffic and dining room chairs moving in and out. Looks good on medium golden hardwood floors.

I was looking for a stylish 5x8 area rug to protect the new bamboo floors in our kitchen. After much research, I saw a rug that caught my eye on h****.com and set out to locate it for purchase. I was thrilled to find it for a great price on overstock.com. The order/delivery process was smooth, as always. The only observation is that the rug smelled musty when we took it out of the plastic wrapping. However, after a few days on our floor the smell dissipated. In spite of the rich and nubby texture that I love, the rug is soft underfoot and we get tons of compliments for people who visit the house. Thank you overstock!

The rug is soft yet durable. It is softer under the feet than sisal and this is why it is the second jute rug that I have ordered from Overstock. It's a great choice.

I bought four of these rugs to place in a very large bedroom (14' x 20'). They don't make rugs large enough for the space. These rugs are wonderful. They look fantastic and were pieced together to appear as one large rug. They have a wonderful texture and actually make the room appear larger than it is. I would definitely recommend these rugs. They are reasonably priced and add warmth to any room.

Love this rug! It is more natural color than the picture, not as yellow. It feels soft and looks great on my wood floor! Would highly recommend! No smells either. Also the price is UNbeatable on o.co. Arrived so quickly too!

I was looking to replace a bamboo area rug in our great room at the beach and this was the prefect choice. Looks fabulous and is easy to clean - just vacuum and done! It also is not rough on the feet, actually nice and soft.

I purchased this rug a year ago. I have pets and was tired of having them ruin my rugs. I wanted something inexpensive and natural. After dog sitting for a friend, I thought this rug was ruined. My friends dog was not house broken. I took the run outside and blasted it with a hose. I then proceeded to leave it out in the sun for two weeks. I thought for sure it would be unusable after that. Much to my surprise it held its shape and looked as good as new. The natural jute can withstand pet urine and more. It cleans, its easy to vacuum, and it keeps it shape. You can't beat the value.

These jute rugs are not cheap but they look great, and this one was a great value for the money.

I loved this rug from the start. It arrived well wrapped & protected. My son used it in his dorm room. Easy to keep clean & vacuum. Soft to the feet.

High quality and dog hair and dirt doesn’t show..even if someone walk in with mud just let it dry and wipe with wet cloth. If you spill a coke for example just take it out on the driveway clean with dawn and a hose. Love it!!!

I used this as a kitchen rug for years, and it held up well. Well made and really pretty. We were very pleased with this purchase. I've held on to it for years now.

We purchased two of these rugs six or seven years ago for a large children's bedroom, and they have held up exceptionally well. They are much softer underfoot than you would think, and they look great in person. These were a great buy, and i would definitely recommend them.

Loved loved loved this rug. It truly anchors my living room and is soft to walk on. Glad I opted for this rug over others. You will not be disappointed.

I like it but it is fragile. The threading comes apart easily. I would use it strictly indoors and don't move it much as to put extra stress on the threading that holds it together.

I use these rugs all the time for clients and love them. They are soft and layer nicely for the price. They arrive packaged well with no issues.

I’ve purchased several braided jute rugs and none have come close to the look and quality of this one. The construction and materials are superior to the others I purchased thinking they would be similar or the same. I will be purchasing another one in s larger size soon.

I love this rug. I have had it for quite few years. Does not move around even though I didn't put met under it.
