The material is made out of thermal suede that is used to line insulated curtains. It does a good job, I ended up keeping up my drapes over the windows also. One of the shades operates great the other not so great. It doesn't "lock" in the up position when you raise it.
We moved to a new home and have been putting up various brands and kinds of blinds and window treatments. This blind was easy to install and the quality was very good for the price. The instructions were easy to follow.
We bought our new home in 2014. No window treatment were included, I searched local stores for something different. I didn't want just "mini blinds" for the living room. I found items similar to these as a very high cost and not at the width I needed which added more money to have them customized. By chance I went on Overstock (which was my first time) and what do you know, they had what I wanted with the exact width I needed. I got 3 window treatments for less than what one would have cost me at the "other" store, very happy. It is now 3 1/2 years later and they look and work as well as the first day
I just received this shade in black couple days ago and I absolutely love it!! I already ordered one more since I actually needed two shades but wanted to make sure that it is what I want. I live in Europe and was planning to buy second one from the local store but changed my mind since this is just perfect! Also there is no shades like this in stores here. Looks very pretty when tied up. If you need a blackout shade I would definitely recommend the Aurora Home Solid Insulated Blackout Tie Up Shade!
