We bought our new home in 2014. No window treatment were included, I searched local stores for something different. I didn't want just "mini blinds" for the living room. I found items similar to these as a very high cost and not at the width I needed which added more money to have them customized. By chance I went on Overstock (which was my first time) and what do you know, they had what I wanted with the exact width I needed. I got 3 window treatments for less than what one would have cost me at the "other" store, very happy. It is now 3 1/2 years later and they look and work as well as the first day
I have 4 large windows in my family room and connecting formal living room and have found these faux wood blinds add a perfect taylored window treatment to both rooms including great outside curb appeal. I do not have the exact window measurements to match the available lengths. As a result they were hung as exteriors. The only disappointment I have is side pieces were not included with the valance making them look somewhat unfinished. I doubt that too many people notice it but unfortunately I do and missed it when I ordered the blinds. If this is not an issue for you, then you'll be totally delighted with this purchase.
I ordered a whole set of these for the house. Unfortunately the Measurement Chart they provide (for INSIDE MOUNT) is not as accurate as I expected; I could have easily ordered an a shade that was 1 inch wider than what they recommended. I followed the directions for the "Inside Mount" measurements - perfectly - but still think the size/width is too small/narrow for the window. I recommend ordering the same size/width blinds as the inner window frame (for inside mount). Ex. 30 inch window = 30 inch blinds. Otherwise you'll have a large gap between the shades and window and will see the mounting hardware at the top/sides of the window frame. Have had problems with a few "slipping" - the cord does not seat well/tight into the roller, which means they occasionally fall/lower on their own....
After buying a new house that needed dozens of window treatments, we couldn't afford anything much more expensive than these shades for now. They come in a good variety of sizes, so I was able to find a close fit for most of my windows. The only thing I don't love about these is that the cord is very awkward to get out of the way when the shade is up. Very long, and the wider shades come with multiple cords that get tangled together easily. They do seem to work fairly well as far as I can tell, but we will see with time if they hold up. All in all, for the price, these look good, but you definitely get what you pay for as far as functionality goes.
