After buying a new house that needed dozens of window treatments, we couldn't afford anything much more expensive than these shades for now. They come in a good variety of sizes, so I was able to find a close fit for most of my windows. The only thing I don't love about these is that the cord is very awkward to get out of the way when the shade is up. Very long, and the wider shades come with multiple cords that get tangled together easily. They do seem to work fairly well as far as I can tell, but we will see with time if they hold up. All in all, for the price, these look good, but you definitely get what you pay for as far as functionality goes.
Honestly, I took a chance with these blinds. You never know if your own measurements are correct or whether you take into account of the header rail in the length or whether or not the manufacturer adds or subtracts an eighth or quarter of an inch here or there. I've owned six condos and two homes in my life and one of the first installations to do is window treatments. I took a chance on these are they were perfect in every way...... Seriously, this is not a canned review. The installation was a piece of cake. Four screws into the inside mount of the window that hold up the brackets. The header rail of the blind just clips right in. I would say the installation was 8 minutes each. These blinds are so clean looking. There are no cords and the plastic tabs are a good idea to install to pull down or up these blinds. All nine of the blinds that I ordered 8 x 34" and 1 x 26" FIT PERFECTLY. It's like they were made for the condo. I am so please with all of them. The condo looks so finished and clean. Bravo.
I live in Seattle where having light to let into the house is a premium. I love the functionality of these shades. Fully closed they let filtered light in. Opened top down half way I get to see my craftsman divided window panes. Moving them up part way I don't see people walking down the sidewalk but I can see my rose bushes. I have four 23 inch windows and four 19 inch windows. I watched a youtube video on how to cut the 23 inch down to 19 inch. That may not be for everyone to do but with this house built in 1903 with some of the windows being a non standard size to avoid the expensive custom built options that are available I thought at this price I could take the chance. It has worked out and they are fully operational. One cautionary note. The dictionary definition of alabaster is bright super white but in fact that option in these shades have an yellow brown color so if you want white shades order the white not the alabaster.
I was a little worried about purchasing these blinds because so often they aren't what the ones you looked at! But I decided to chance it and ordered them. Well what a wonderful surprise they are! They are really beautiful and for the price I feel really blessed. Thank You for having something so nice to put up and affordable at the same time. Just in case you are like I was and couldn't find the exact measure for the inside of the window casing which was width of 71+ I went ahead and ordered a 72 Ias I recall and almost ended up not being able to fit on the outside. But my new an talented daughter in-law is a whiz with this stuff and we got it up like a pro after all. So if you can't find your width then go a few numbers higher so it will fit the outside of the casing. It actually looks nicer in my windows that way anyway. I hope you will try these because you will not be sorry. Gema
