      Bought this kettle a couple of years ago. The lid was always a little loose and I had to press it down a couple of times for the latch to click. But it boiled water well so I did not bother with exchanging it. Now the lid is very loose. It is getting harder and harder for the latch to lock so that the automatic shut off is activated. I have to lift the kettle off the base to get it to shut off. I can't see a way to replace the cover or the latch closure mechanism. Otherwise the kettle works but wastes energy. Hate to buy another one but will have to soon if I cannot find a solution to this issue.

      Like others here, the switch broke so it will only heat if the switch is held down. I suspect even that won't work for very long. It's been a good kettle for 10 years. I only wish replacement parts were available.

      This kettle was in use daily, until I accidentally melted the bottom of it on the stove... I have searched the web extensively trying to find a replacement base and cannot. I do not wish to throw the pot away, but it is useless without the base. I wish the parts were readily available ANYWHERE! If anybody knows how to get the base replaced, I sure would appreciate them sharing the info with me.

      Initially worked great - boils water quickly. However, the button you press to open the lid is defective and the lid no longer closes AT ALL! Still boils water, but wastes energy because the automatic shut off also does not work anymore. Disappointing. Purchased this hoping it would be durable and last a long time.
