  • Wife swears by it. But the blade dont spin anymore
    Reviewed at http://www.blackanddecker.com/

Wife uses it to grind spices. Fast effective and we have used it for about 30 times. However it appears the blade is not attached around the spindle anymore so not spinning. The motor and spindle are fine. Appears that the plastic part that attaches the blade to the spindle is broken off - so its hanging loosely around the spindle. Any remedy for this? Rating is 2 - bcoz unit failed much earlier than expected Model # - 3069692

  • Great Value!

I love this product. This grinder was inexpensive but effective which is exactly what I was looking for. I have obviously been using it to grind my coffee beans in the morning, but I'm sure it will be just as effective for grinding/chopping other harder consistency ingredients for cooking (i.e. Seeds, nuts, etc.). I highly recommend this to anyone!

  • Poor Design
    Reviewed at http://www.blackanddecker.com/

I bought this primarily to grind coffee. First issue: the black tab that is attached to the lid is made of thin plastic. I suspect it will only be a matter of short time before it gets broken. 2 - to close the lid, you have to slide that black tab into a recessed area on the base - its easy to push down on the lid with that misaligned. 3 - the hardware that mounts the tab to the lid creates an uneven surface inside the lid into which coffee grounds get stuck, making it hard to clean. 4 - it takes a *long* time to get a fine grind of coffee. And 5 - its hard to wind the power cord into the built-in cord storage, which is a nuisance if you put the unit away after each use.

  • Really liked it.... until now; can't get the lid o
    Reviewed at http://www.blackanddecker.com/

I have had mine for a couple of years. Very satisfied with it, excellent for spices as well as coffee. However, now the lid seems stuck, won't come off the base - even when unplugged. I'm afraid I will break it if I force it, and the unit still works, I just can't open it.

Lots of these products out there but Black & Decker is reliable and this model is small but efficient and meets my needs - and looks good whether in my pantry or on the counter. Also matches my stainless steel kitchen appliances.

  • Good product for the cost of it.
    Reviewed at http://www.blackanddecker.com/

I find this grinder good enough for occasional to moderate use. It grinds the beans well and evenly, for both coarse and fine grind. The lid was a bit tricky at first, but i got the hang of it on the first couple times of using it and I had no issues with it so far. The design is sleek and modern, the size is perfect for my needs, whether i keep it on the counter or stored away, takes no room at all. I gave it inly 4 stars because I wish it would come with a little brush to help clean the coffee grinds from the inside, and because of the plastic components which I think do not blend well with the stainless steel. Overall I am happy with my little grinder. Black & Decker is a good household brand in my books.

  • Better than Braun
    Reviewed at http://www.blackanddecker.com/

I bought it to grind espresso beans. I wanted to grind the beans very fine. It ground the bean so fine that it clogged my espresso filter. So now I don't grind quite that long. The Smartgrind circulates the grinds as it grinds them so the finshed product is consistant. I had a Braun coffee grinder but it did not grind evenly and I had to open it and stir the grinds several times to get all the grinds fine enough.
