Had been searching several online sights for an upholstered bed then decided to look at local furniture stores during their Fourth of July sales. One salesmen escorted me to the door when I laughed out loud at the $2200 price tag. Yes, it was better known brand and custom material choices, but $2000 more than this one, heck no! Anyway hurried home to place an order and so glad I did, there was a slight delivery issue for UPS, but after talking to Overstock customer service and being reassured the delivery was made within two days of original schedule. Thanks, Tina. It arrived with no major damage. The legs for the headboard and footboard had some minor scratches but are not visible and could be easily touched up. I put it together myself in about 1 1/2 hours. Hardest part was removing my old frame and wrestling with the oversized mattress. I am a 64 year old female and use to doing things myself. The box springs are about six inches higher than the sides, which is ok because I like a high sitting bed and I am going to order a bed skirt that can tuck into the sides and foot to cover the box spring. Anyway the fabric is denim looking grey with undertone stitching in white and will go with almost any bedding...at least my variety of coverlets and comforters. I use a white coverlet in summer and a heavier colorful comforter in winter. Hope this helps. Great sale and coupons made the price even better. Thanks Overstock.
First of all, the bed arrives in 3 packages — the headboard, the wooden slats and the bed frame. Our bed frame box arrived two days after the other parts, which left us a little confused until we messaged the Online Chat Center and confirmed the other package would arrive the next day. Easy enough. What was not easy was the assembly. Holy. Cow. At one point, we had 3 people working on it — the "bolt nuts" specifically. It was just super tedious and finicky. We survived, yes, but if you are not a patient person, you may want to look at other bed options. *You will need a power drill to complete the bed.* That or superhuman forearm strength because you will need to screw in 34-36 slats that are only partially drilled through. The slat has a half-deep hole, and the bed frame part that you are connecting the slats to has nothing at all. We nearly used a drill bit to drill all the holes (glad we didn't -- don't do that), but the screws go in pretty easily with the help of a electric screwdriver of some sort. This is not a "put together, take apart" kind of bed, so definitely assemble it in the room you plan to keep it in for a long, long time. But all in all it looks good. Just not fun to put together.
Easy to put together and very sturdy (no sounds when you sit on bed). Looks great and yes a little darker than picture but I love it. All the reviews were correct about what they said and they are the reason I bought the bed.
Ordered bed as a college grad surprise for son, yes son. This bed is transitional and sophisticated. Dressed it in bedding that mimics a men's suit. Stunning. The quality and sturdiness met my high expectations. Saw nearly an identical bed in another store on sale for over *** . Extremely easy to assemble. The only bummer is that two weeks later if went on a Black Friday deal even cheaper! No matter, I love it and so does my son!
