I like the overall look of this bed... clean lines, not too cheap looking considering the price. However, it took me a lot longer than seems acceptable to put this together. I'm pretty good at this sort of thing, but I feel like they cut and finished the wood and I basically built an entire bed from that point forward. The bag of hardware it came with was insane. If you buy this, make sure you have a drill with some allen wrench bits or you'll never get this finished. I think this is the most insane assembly I've ever done on a bed. The rails were too wide and I had to force them into place. Oh yeah, and when I was done, I already found two scratches on the finish that probably happened during assembly. I don't feel this is a good sign for durability going forward.
Positives: Good for the price. Higher off the ground than many comparable models. Wood frame appears solid. Wooden slats appear to properly support and distribute weight of a foam mattress. Negatives: Center support legs are not stable… I had to screw in separate L-shaped brackets to prevent center legs from twisting side-to-side. Wooden slats could use head or foot guides to help indicate where they should be screwed down.
I loved everything about this bed except the wood slates. I knew what I was getting from the photos so I was prepared for that. I left my bed on the metal frame we already had it on and simply put this together around it. Because this bed is for my toddler and their mattress and box springs are light it would probably hold up pretty well, but I just thought it looked a bit weak. They blend well and make a really finished look. The bed its self was easy to put together and took no time at all.
