For the price I paid I couldn't believe the quality. The wood was solid and a beautiful medium color of maple. I can't say enough good things about the bed.
I got the maple bed frame, and it really is solid wood, not veneer or particle board. Very pretty wood and it seems very sturdy now that it's put together. It was delivered very quickly. Everything was there. All I needed to put it together was a philip-head screwdriver. It would have been quicker with two people, but I was able to do it myself. My only complaint is that the illustration in the directions indicated that the slat should go with the web strip which holds them together (nice touch!) UP... once I realized that meant exposed screw heads (which could tear a mattress), I checked and found recessed screw holes on the other side. So I took out all the screws, turned the slats over and put the screws back in. That made it take an extra half hour to finish, but even then it was all done in less than 2 hours.
Love the bed, it came fairly quickly - bout a week - and packaged nicely. The wood is good quality, the frame is sturdy, the directions were a bit scant but me and my husband put it together in under an hour w/ a power drill to screw in the 50 screws for assembly. We ordered the maple color and it came in a great nuetral shade. The only thing I dont like is that the legs have a bit of a design to them and the way they are shaped makes them stick about 3 to 4 inches away from the wall, so if you dont have a head board you are using, your pillows tend to slip in this crack. We are going to build a simple wall mounted head board to stop this from happening. Other than that, you cant go wrong for the money!
We purchased this for our 17-year-old. I decided to let him build it himself. He had zero issues with the assembly. And it looks great. This is much nicer than a cheap metal frame for sure. We purchased a second one today.
