Wonderful, solid, very attractive bed. Amazing treatment of the metal to look like cherry wood. A lifetime piece of furniture! Easily put together with the tools included in the hardware. Packed very well.
It's heavy duty, and well, heavy. I think the box was about 100lbs. It went together quite easily. As a single woman, I did it all myself. I always wanted a canopy bed. I had separately purchased a canopy net and slid the fabric hooks through the upper beams during the assembly of the frame. The directions were clear and it is well engineered to fit together without a hassle. I would recommend having a long-handled hex wrench, it will make the job easier. It was just missing a single screw from the set. It should last a lifetime. I'm very happy with it.
I have owned a fair number of beds in my lifetime and this one is the best so far. I like the height and the storage drawers and the fact that I don't have to worry about slats falling down or bolts loosening or squeaks or a box spring. It sounds like I've had some questionable furniture but I did have a platform bed from a scandinavian furniture store. That one is gone and for about a third of the price I can have this bed. The color is a creamier beige rather than on the tan side. The delivery guys put the feet on and set it up right where I wanted it. I am looking for a headboard but am not in a hurry, looks fine without, if that's what you prefer. Delivery was very timely and I couldn't be happier. Thanks overstock.com. PS I just bought the same bed for my daughter.
I do understand why folks usually buy their products from a brick & mortar location--this is the first time we have ordered this large of an item and had to assemble ourselves. Yikes! but after a few mishaps in determining front and back, we got it set up. It is absolutely beautiful and we are looking forward to a lifetime of enjoyment. It really is a beautiful bed.
