I bought this bed because it was rated for up to 900 pounds and is made of actual wood. So far (3-4 months?) it has held up just fine under our 380ish pounds give or take the weight of our 7 year old jumping on it. Additionally, it was super easy to put together, 4 interlocking joints and a bunch of slats, maybe 10 minutes of effort tops. I do have a memory foam bed and the slats are a bit far for that. Adding slats would require a bit of carpentry that I would not attempt as the long braces are notched to accept the slats, but it might work to put some plywood or other firm board down on the existing slats. I would leave some give on the edges as the bed shifts when you move, and it squeaks too. I read somewhere that rubbing bar soap or wax on the parts where there is friction would help resolve the squeak, but I have not tried it yet. Overall, I am very happy with this bed. It is sturdy and looks great. I would buy it again, squeak or no squeak.
I am very particular with everything I buy and do extensive searches for what I want so this is an honest review. The color is a eggshell/cream with a linen style fabric. I put it together myself and that was hard. Make sure you have another person to help you because the bed is very heavy. Also when you are putting the screws in be conscious of your hands on the linen because the dirt from the screws on your hands will easily leave brown marks from where you were holding the bed. Easy clean up with some soap and water though. The black part in the back everyone is talking about only really shows (about 2in) on the bottom left and right hand sides. It does not take away from the bed AT ALL. Make sure you have a 20in boxspring underneath and you won't have any issues. The headboard is tall and beautiful. Great buy. So happy.
