The bed was damaged in the box when delivered. Called Overstock customer service and a new one was sent immediately and was perfect, the return process of the old was wonderful. Only complaint is the hollow supports under the bed are a bit wobbly, aren't steel and don't stay upright when the bed is moved. Found this out the hard way when the center of the bed started to sag. Pulled up the mattress and box spring to find the support slipped to the side and the support beam bent. Still love the bed but will be figuring out a way to support the bed better.
It was hard to find an iron bed with low footboard. Because foot-boar is not sticking up at the end of our bed, we can sit on that side of the bed now. High footboards that are sticking out above the mattress, in my opinion, are absolutely useless. It also creates more space and flow in the bedroom...
This bed is absolutely not worth the money. The materials and construction of this bed are of terrible quality. It took me 2 days to put this bed together and wrestle it into place. I had to buy extra screws to anchor it to the wall because the 3 screws that were provided immediately pulled out of the stud the first time I tried to lower the bed. After solving that problem the next problem arose. The mattress supports would catch on the bottom every time I lowered the bed, pulling the screws out of the cheap pressboard wood. To solve this I used a sawsall to cut an inch off the bottom of the bed and had to secure the front facing boards to the frame with even more screws. The last problem I encountered was with the separate bookcase shelves which have begun falling down because of the cheap plastic supports used to hold the shelves in place. I no longer fold the bed up at this point for fear of what will break next. I wish I could get my money back but I am past the 30 day return policy.
