So, we purchased this bed for the guest room. Shipping was fast and not a single scratch. This bed is heavy and the wood material is superior. It took almost an hour or so to complete the assemble. After I had it assembled, the bed frame it self looks amazing, but there is an issue with the design or the piece that I received. The bed is slightly bigger in length that that Queen size mattress and the frame. It looks very awkward just to have a empty space either on the front or on the back of the bed. Our new Queen mattress sits perfectly with the bedframe but when we put that bedframe and the mattress into this bed, it does not completely covers the bed. We had to move the bedframe and mattress towards to headpart of the bed which leaves more than 4 inch of empty space towards the front of the bed. So though we loved the bed, we are still not so happy with the way it is designed.
After a two month bed search, we landed on this bed. I love the bed itself, the planks that hold the mattress are sturdy and don't' fall off, the pillow back is nice. HOWEVER, it shows a picture of a mattress on the bed as if it's a platform bed, in the description it says a boxspring is required. which after looking at the width of the planks I'd have to agree. That being said, even with our LOW PROFILE box spring which is half the size of a normal boxspring, with pillows on our bed you can only see about an inch of the headboard. Literally, it's like I should have just bought a metal frame, you can barely see it. So if you like the bed I'd purchase some slats you'd traditionally use on a platform bed and use a mattress only.
