I have a powder room I refer to as my 'airplane bathroom' because it's so small. To make the most of every inch I removed the towel bar behind the door and gained a little space because now the door opens just a wee bit more. This shelf was installed on the wall next to the pedestal sink. It's perfect for storing soap, lotion, hand towels, tissue, room spray. It also looks great, is solidly built, and the design is very functional, which is the most important feature for me. The little railings prevent anything from falling off. I hung a little Turkish hand towel from the bar and Voila! my little bath is transfixed.
i am using the soap dish on the edge of a freestanding tub. I like the look but there's too much room in the bracket so it doesn't stay on the rim. I've put a towel on the rim under the holder and that helps. I tried to bend it down but concerned I will damage it. I will keep and look for a solution. Perhaps putting weight on the bracket part or find a way to clip it to the tub on the backside.
