I've built a lot of furniture in our house, and when we had our master bath remodeled to a spa-like feel, my intention was to build a teak bench myself. I looked at designs, and we liked this one. Then I priced out teak at the local lumber store, and that alone was going to cost twice of what this bench cost. Factoring in the extra cost of stain, finish, and the hours I would have spent, it was worth giving this a shot. And we have not regretted it. It's sturdy, stable, and beautiful. And will undoubtedly last for years.
