We have been very pleased with the Fresca 50" wide bathroom medicine cabinet. The interior mirrors (inside the doors and behind the medicine cabinet shelves) are useful to have available. It seemed like a lot of mirrors at first, but I quickly came to like this feature. We have not yet mounted the mirrors that came for the sides, top, and bottom. This cabinet is mounted in our master bathroom over the Vinnova Gela 60" double vanity with Carrera white marble top, also purchased from Overstock.com. Our contractor and one of his employees installed it for us. We considered the 60" version of this medicine cabinet since the vanity is 60", but this 50" cabinet looks great. We were unable to find the interior shelf rests to mount the shelves inside the vanity. Overstock.com customer service was very helpful in getting these important pieces to us.
This was tricky to install but my husband and I got this done. One side mirror arrived broken but I got the replacement weeks later. I ended up watching a how to instructional video from Fresca because the enclosed directions made no sense. Once I watched that, the install went very quick. Basically install the bottom bracket, put the mirror up ( 2 person job to make sure it is sitting on bracket), draw marks for upper bracket and drll in. We used 50 lb drywall screws too. We previously had a 40 inch mirror that this medicine cabinet replaced. There is so much room for toiletries for both of us. Super well made and quite pleased with this purchase.
You need to be very careful with layout. The wall rails for the two pieces need to be on the exact x y z planes or this thing is a real pain to mount. I used washers to compensate for my wavy wall. The included wall anchors looked suspect, so I used the wall anchors from the container store. Instead of 4 rails, 2 long rails should have been provided. This would make life so much easier. Once both units are connected by the two aluminum blocks it's pretty sturdy. The center opening hinges have to be adjusted with a large gap or it scrapes the adjacent door. The units arrived filthy. Dried glue was everywhere, which I had to scrape off with a razor. Also, when raising the units to the wall, the sharp bottom corners dig ruts in your wall. File them round. Trust me. Once done it looks pretty good and should last. Fresca should just make some small improvements for ease of installation.
