Absolutely love my bar. All parts came labeled and I would consider the level of assembly to be intermediate. I put the cabinet together myself and it took about 2 hours total. I love love it , it is exactly as pictured.
This arrives in two boxes and a zillion parts. It's like a Chinese jigsaw puzzle with NO WRITTEN instructions, only photos. Fortunately, my very high IQ son assembled this for me but, it still took us almost 2 hours to complete it. The parts are supposed to be labeled but 20% of them are not. It is not clear which side is top and which is bottom so we had to take it apart at one point because we had a piece in upside down. The metal bars on the side all of a sudden appear in the photos although it's unclear at what point they were inserted. That kind of thing in instructions is why people love *** directions are the coup de gras in the DIY furniture assembly. Unfortunately, there is not a store close to me. So, all that in mind, I'm happy with the finished piece. It did have a few scratches on some of the pieces but nothing that a little magic market couldn't cover up. I might have rated this considerably lower had I written this review the day after assembly but, a week later, I'm not quite so livid about the lousy directions.
I have been considering this cabinet for a long time. I wanted it to coordinate with an existing dining room set. I was concerned about the finish and the color since I could not see it in person. I finally broke down and purchased it. It was delivered late yesterday and we assembled it last night. It is packed wonderfully, but one piece was damaged despite such (the bottom of the cabinet in the back). Because of the area of damage, we decided to continue with its assembly. The damage is only visible from the unfinished back of the cabinet. It took approximately four hours for two people to assemble it. The instructions are pictures and diagrams and it would be more beneficial if some of the pieces were identified better. They are labeled, but in the early assembly stages, when you do not know where the piece will be sitting once fully assembled, sometimes you can assemble a piece the reverse of how it should be. The finish is beautiful. The cabinet compliments our dining room wonderfully. I would have given it five stars but for the one damaged piece and the sometimes confusing instructions.
This is a very nice and sturdy bar cabinet (once all installation steps are completed) A few of the installation steps aren't spelled out exactly. So a few times you have to use your brain and think of it like a puzzle. Mainly When you are attaching the back you have to flip it in a certain direction to get the angle needed to attach it. I put it together alone and took my time with it. Okay, I really took my time with it. Watching TV etc.. but it took me 3 1/2 hours to put together. If I had to put together another one and I really focused I could probably get it together in under 3 hours. 2 hours if I had an extra hand. The toughest part about the installation was attaching the doors. If you have someone to hold the doors while you screw it in you will complete the task much faster. The door seams are a TAD off but that is probably because I didn't have anyone hold the doors. So get an extra set of hands. Tools needed. I used a drill a few times but a battery powered screw driver really helped me out on this one. If I had to screw everything in by hand it probably would have taken another half hour to complete. There are a lot things to screw into place. The battery powered screw driver worked nicely because they aren't overly powerful so I didn't damage the wood. Quality is good. It is wood that is painted silver. Photos don't really show that in great detail. I was worried about the legs but once I had everything put together it is very sturdy. They do provide you with wires / brackets to attach to wall for safety. But it stands upright nicely and has weight to it. Around 100 pounds. Packaging was good. The mirror and tempered glass shelf is packaged in a box that is very well protected. You will need some room to put this together there are a lot of parts, but again if you take your time, your patience will be rewarded. Cheers.
