The clay color is a light grey with a warm hue; it could accent any room in my home beautifully. It is pictured in a naturally lit room with a pale, yellow-cream wall (about to be painted over with a dark, earthy grey). The material has a gorgeous drape easy to "puddle" with a medium/heavy weight and it is o, so soft! I didn't know a curtain could feel so good, haha Blackout is accurate (hang high, wide, and with more panels to achieve better blackout). I have another set with back tabs in biscuit for another room: biscuit is a cream, light tan, or off-white- much lighter than it appeared to me online.

For the price, I could not be happier with these curtains. They made the room substantially cooler, and the light that comes through is minimal.

Quality of the curtains was fine, however the color was not what I expected. I ordered the mineral green, and it is much closer to a grey color.

    • Blackout Curtains.
      Verified Purchase

these were much more shiny than I had thought they would be. even though they were, they hang beautifully and are definitely full black out. I have had a little trouble with the tie-backs but cut off the hooks and just tie them on each panel and let them hang. still, the color and black out qualities are terrific.

    Questions & Answers

    • Q:

"Are the dimensions for one curtain or the pair?"

      • A:

        It is a pair

      • A:

The dimensions 52" wide is for each panel of the pair.

      • A:

Each Panel is 52" wide, therefore this pair of panels are collectively 104" wide

    • Q:

      "What color are the grommets?"

      • A:

It may depend on the color of curtains you buy but the grommets on my curtains (Clay) have sort of a silver/bronze look to the. Hope this helps!

      • A:

The color is what I would describe as dark brass. Very pleased with my purchase for a window that receives sunlight, great for blocking out sun and heat in summer.

      • A:

The color of my gourmet black out curtains is indigo . Beautiful!! Pretty in photo , better in person!!

    • Q:

"what rod should be used with these curtains?"

      • A:

We have these curtains and they are very effective. Being black-outs, they are heavier, so it needs to be a sturdy rod. Style and design of your choosing that can be anchored well to the wall.

      • A:

The grommets are just a little bit under 2 inches in diameter, so you have a lot of rod options. My panels are hung on a metal decorative rod that has a center support bracket so the rod does not sag.

      • A:

We just used a regular rod from ****. IT was what we had prior to these curtains, which we love! It's not huge, but it is heavy duty so it can stand the weight of these curtains. IT has a very sleek decorative end, not ornate though.

      • A:

I think i1/2 inch decorative is what mine is

      • A:

You can use any rod. I used a decorative rod that hangs on hooks. The grommet holes are aprox 2-3 inches.

    • Q:

"Will these curtains fit 2 1/2 inch rod?"

      • A:

I'm not sure. I ordered the recommended rod from Overstock. Unfortunately I no longer have access to that property to check.

      • A:

No, the grommet has an opening approx 1 1/2 in

      • A:

The grommet size is just right under 2 inches diameter.

      • A:

I have the blue curtains and love them...I used a standard 1" round rod but there is room in it for a larger rod...2 and 1/2 might be close though.

    • Q:

"If I order these are two panels included for the price? Is the navy a dark navy and is the indigo more of a marine blue (turquoise?)"

      • A:

Yes, you get two curtain panels

      • A:

The mineral green is more turquoise

      • A:

The Navy is a dark navy!

      • A:

They are more of a marine/turquoise color.

      • A:

Indigo is more of a navy

      • A:

        there are 2.

      • A:

yes you get two panels. I ordered the gray and I love them

    • Q:

"Is the "mustard" color a bright sunshine kind of yellow or a dull yellow?"

      • A:

I don't know if the yellow curtains are a bright yellow or not. I purchased the cream curtains

      • A:

Hi.. I ordered the yellow... and although a beautiful drape... I expected 'frenchs' mustard... and these are more like grey poupon.....I returned them...

      • A:

I ordered grey and is a great shade. I do not have the yellow/mustard ones.

      • A:

They are more of a dull, golden yellow, not a bright yellow. I was expecting something a bit brighter as that's what the picture portrayed. I used them to match a bedroom comforter & while they don't match exactly, it's pretty close.

      • A:

They are slslightly warmer (less bright) than the picture looks online. But to me, they are still mustard, not yellow.

      • A:

Love these yellow drapes. They are between a French mustard and grey poupon color for sure. More golden sunflower I would say. We paird them with a dark teal wall and I've gotten a lot of compliments on them.

      • A:

It is a dull golden yellow.

      • A:

        Its bright! Just as shown.

      • A:

It is a deep mustard color. Love the color.

      • A:

These curtains a fabulous...They are a muted mustard color that have a weight that hangs more like a drape not a curtain...I have them at a sliding glass door at my newly designed HGTV kitchen...Just want to mention I spent $67,000. On my upgrades for this room...I could not believe the quality I received purchasing these curtains on th e fly!!! One of my BEST BUYS on Iverstick to date😆

      • A:

The yellow is a mustard, and with the shade closed the sun is out, work well.

      • A:

there are 2 panals per pkg.

      • A:

The yellow is not bright. It's a nice mellow yellow. Doesn't look mustard at all. Soft yellow, just perfect with my navy and gray.

    • Q:

"Does the the last pleat of the panel wrap around and meet the wall so no light gap comes through at the sides? I work nights and desperately want to block out the sunlight. Can I use the rod like the one shown in the picture? Or should I buy a rod that wraps around to better block out light? Please help me."

      • A:

yes it does. They are very nice

      • A:

You can use whichever rod you want, but yes, the curved rod would block out light better.

      • A:

There is a slight gap of light because the pleat doesn't touch the wall completely, unless you were to clip it to the wall somehow but it isn't bad..... I don't know if the wrap around rod would be better or not but it blocks light and heat very well in my sons room.

      • A:

Yes, the end of the curtain (not defined pleats) wraps around to meet the wall but depending on how far out your rod is placed from the wall will determine if the curtain will sit against the wall and block all light.

      • A:

Yes, they are great blackout curtains. I like mine alot because they let no light in...

      • A:

If I order the 84 inch wide curtains are both panels 84 inches? Or is each 42 inches?

      • A:

Biscuit would be likely be the best option.

    • Q:

"Are these curtains lined? What makes them insulated? I'm looking for drapes to keep my home warmer in the winter - I have 4 huge single pane windows."

      • A:

They are thick and are great insulation.

      • A:

Sorry I can't answer your question since I haven't even opened them yet

      • A:

They are lined and the texture of the curtains is almost suede-like. They're not as heavy as some other drapes, but they are quite effective for mid-weight panels. They are not absolute black-out curtains, but they do block out a lot of sun. I have a guest room that faces east and the sun would be blinding in the morning and these helped tremendously. I've been happy with the purchase.

      • A:

No, they are not lined interestingly enough. They are a very nice weight, however, and they DO insulate. They will keep a room warm in the winter. We have them on a huge 16ft slider door in our great room as well as in a guest bedroom. You cannot feel cold coming through them at all and our temps get into the teens in the winter. They also hang beautifully. I didn't even have to iron or steam them. Within a couple of days hanging, they were wrinkle free. Excellent buy I think (especially for the price)! Hope this helps!

      • A:

Mine are not lined but they do their job better than lined ones I have owned. If on the fence, I don't think you will be sorry if you buy them. I LOVE their performance and look.

      • A:

Nope, no lining. I have them on 4 huge 1971 single pane sliders. Pretty much the entire living room and master bedroom walls. We live in South Florida right on the Gulf. These absolutely block both light and heat from both rooms. The LR is East West exposure so it's quite a bit of heat and light after about 3 PM and it is completely cool and dark when I pull them closed. I also have them on our equally old and thin front window and the two huge master bedroom windows. Same result, that huge wall of windows in the Master around 3 really starts to cook and when I close these the room stays extremely cool and comfortable. I have the grey in the LR & the clay in the BR, they both work & look great.

      • A:

As just answered, the curtains are thermal insulated. The panels have a polyester construction which is thermally insulated and blocks light, heat & cold. I got them for Austin, TX, and it's really warm (ok, 97 degrees, so hot!) in Austin now, and they work great! Should also work fine for cold winter in the North!

      • A:

Excellent insulation for temperature and light.

      • A:

Yes! These curtains are wonderful! Sun shines so hard into our boys rooms and the curtains really make a difference in terms of temperature and they sleep longer as they are also room darkening.

      • A:

These aren't lined, but instead made out a thick material. It's the same color on both sides. Blocks out light perfectly! With keeping cold air contained, that's debatable, it's does some-what.

      • A:

We got them to keep the room cooler and they work. They block the sun. They are thick and have a reflective liner on one side. They'd probably help with drafty windows too.

      • A:

Yes. They are thick, no lining. They are soft polyester and keep the room much cooler than the last set of 'lined' curtains we had.

      • A:

yes, that's the reason I ordered them

    • Q:

"what color is the back of the curtains?"

      • A:

        The back liner is white.

      • A:

I have the Dove color and the back is the same color as the front.

      • A:

Mine look grey. These are a super good buy and keep the room cool at the same time keeping it dark.

      • A:

No lining. I have the gray and they are not lined. The DO insulate without a lining. Nice weight.

      • A:

        Same as the front.

      • A:

It's the same color all the way through. It is a block out material and does not have a back liner. I ordered bisquit in color and I'm very happy with them. They do a great job at blocking the sun and are a nice material.

      • A:

I got the mustard color. They are the same color on both sides.

      • A:

The back color on mine is the same as the front. Good heavy material, it does block out light, nice curtains.

      • A:

I ordered Royal and they are the same color on both sides.

      • A:

The curtains are the same color on both sides.

        YES!! Total blackout.

      • A:

Our large window faces west. The curtains (cream) do not put the room in total darkness (there is a outside lamp 2 stories down). We have horizontal blinds also but like the effect of the curtains.

      • A:

Yes, I bought mine to get our bonus room completely dark when we have guests visiting us, and to be able to enjoy that big room during the winter and summer as the AC/Heat unit was not able to keep the room at the same or almost the same temperature than the rest of our house. they work perfect for both purposes. I love it, and they really look beautiful.

    • Q:

      "Grommet color? "

      • A:

Antique copper (copper with black with black outer edge)

    • Q:

"If you get 80+ inch curtains how do you get them closed/opened?"

      • A:

        I have 108 length

      • A:

^^ bought a sturdy curtain rod and just pull them closed. The grommets are large enough for the curtains to slide easily.

      • A:

They just slide on the grommets when you open or close them. We've had these on 4 Patio doors and 2 different windows for a few months now. One set is on our front window so it is opened & closed daily. I have had no issues. The curtain rod has a bracket in the middle so you just pull both sides to the bracket to close them. Buy these, they are an awesome upscale look compared to blinds and keep your house cooler or warmer due to the blackout :-)

      • A:

We have several sets of these. You need to make certain that your rod diameters are small enough for the grommets to slide freely. My original rods were slightly too large and because of that the curtains rubbed on the metal rods and picked up color from the rods. I ended up having to buy a slightly smaller rod to prevent the rubbing. On a great note the curtains washed and dried really well and the metallic stains came out really well. The fabric came out true to original color and look really good after hanging in the hot Arizona sun for a year. Ifd buy them again in a heartbeat.

      • A:

I got them for my patio door .I slide everything to the right when I want to go out. They move very easily with the grommets. Enjoy.

      • A:

These gromet types just 'glide' on the rod. I have three in my home, different width and lengths and no problem at all open or closing. If you get them for sliding glass doors, one panel to open/close one way, they come with a rod pull near the top to just grab and pull closed or open also.

      • A:

You just have to pull them aside. They move easily on a rod with the grommets. I have them in a guest bedroom that I don't use often and they were okay in there. For me they are more decorative adding a frame for my windows in the living room that I don't need to close hardly at all due to where I live.

Not at all. Flat color and thick fabric due to blackout. Love the grey and clay colors.

      • A:

The fabric is matte. No shine at all. I love them! The material is wonderful. Hangs nicely. I purchased the "biscuit" color.

      • A:

It is a fairly matte fabric.
