    Questions & Answers

    • Q:

"is the quantity shown limited to 2 pair or two panels would you be able to purchase more the two pair"

      • A:

Two panels in one bag. I bought extra and they work wonderfully! I bought the gray and they are excellent for blocking light!!

      • A:

The package brings 2 pieces (one pair). I believe you can purchase as many as you select depending on your budget. I bought for my bedroom, living room, and guest room different sizes and colors. I am very pleased!

      • A:

There are two panels per package. I don't see why you can't buy as many as you wish. If it's a long window (over 88") in length, I would recommend buying 2 packages. That's what I did. For a little panache, I mixed brown and grey panels, hence buying 2 sets as the window in very long. (106"). I hope this helps. Peace out.

      • A:

I purchased 4 panels (2 pair) for a large window. They look beautiful. I also purchased a pair for my bedroom and my deck door. I'm very happy with them

      • A:

came in sets of 2 panels

      • A:

        I lurched 6 panels

    • Q:

"Will this fit on a valance rod?"

      • A:

I used the curtains on a 1.5" diameter pole, so they'd fit at least that diameter.

      • A:

Yes they will. The rod opening is conveniently wide. I love these black out curtains.

    • Q:

"Is the back of curtains white. My HOA only allows white on street side"

      • A:

No. I have the tan ones in our bedroom and the back of them is the same color as the front.

      • A:

        They are blue both sides

      • A:

No. The curtains are thickly woven, so no backing on them. Same color as front of curtains.

      • A:

        yes they are white

      • A:

The curtains I have are not white on the "street side". (The blue ones are blue on both sides; as the tan are tan on both sides.)

      • A:

I have the light blue and it's light blue on both sides

      • A:

No, it has no lining and its black on both side. It is, however, a heavy curtain and keeps the daylight out well.

      • A:

No they are blue on the back

      • A:

No, they are the same color of choice throughout the front/back of item.

      • A:

I bought the gray panels and the backing is white

    • Q:

"I’m not used to dealing with curtains. When it says 52” wide per curtain, does it mean per panel or for both panels?"

      • A:

i think i found the answer when i expanded the questions below.

      • A:

        It is per panel.

      • A:

It's a good guesting are each panel 52" wide by 63" long

    • Q:

"Will this thermal curtain help during heavy winter? I live in chicago and I need some curtain so that my heater can work little better. Please recommend any or will this one work? My window is 23inches wide, and there are 2 windows of that size. Can I just buy one of the thermal curtain so I can use for both?"

      • A:

the black outs are great used as a thermo barrier, but I think they only come as a pair. I think 63 inches is the smallest. I think they are great, if you can sew u can change them.

      • A:

Yes, I think that would work. You may have a tough time compressing them enough to get them on the rod since they are so wide and the material is thick. I was able to compress them to put two on a rod for a 30 inch window.

      • A:

YES. Purchase a 2-panel offer. My windows are same size. Get 2 for 1 curtains! Drop curtain rod to maximize 63" curtain length. Definitely works this way. Though, take into consideration that I am now in temp zone 7-8. I have purchased additional curtains to maximize my energy efficiency and reduced significantly. On warmer days I pull back to allow sunlight. Have single pane windows. I highly recommend as a former Michigan resident!

      • A:

These are great for keeping the light out and hold the cold too Nice heavy lined and still soft and attractive.

      • A:

I love these curtains. I live in NC it was a great help in the summer

      • A:

The curtains are 63" in length each. Since this reads they are 52" in width, one will work perfectly for your 23" window. Therefore, you will only have to buy one pr for your two windows. Hope that helps! (Length = up & down / width = across)

      • A:

Yes I purchased more, it was tricky finding the quantity place on the purchase, as I recall it was way over on the far right in a box above some other info. I hope this helps.

    • Q:

"What rod diameter is recommended for these?"

      • A:

You can use from one (1) inch to three (3) inches. The opening on the curtains is about two and a half (2 1/2) inches.

      • A:

I have had mine hung on a variety of rods: one set on a dowel stick that is a little over 4" measured around (sold in hardware stores for closets, I think), a store bought rod that is about 1" measured around, and the majority of sets on rods purchased from "O" like this: ITEM#: 18606764. I think the choice is yours. There is a rod pocket and tabs behind the top, so you have two ways to hang the curtains.

    • Q:

"I need 60" wide panels do you have any?"

      • A:

This item only comes in the 63 inch size option.

      • A:

The 63" refers the the length of the curtain, not the width. I believe the width of 52" is for the pair, as that is how they are sold. You can buy two sets of pairs & use 3 panels on your windows, or sew them to your desired width, if you are handy with a sewing machine. Just an FYI: curtains usually come in 2 lengths, either 63" or 84". Hope that helps.

    • Q:

"Can the panels be easily altered/hemmed if they are too long?"

      • A:

Yes, I can't see any reason it would be difficult.

      • A:

Yes, they can be easily hemmed and I hemmed by hand. Very nice drapes..

      • A:

I would say yes. I had bought 2 pair of 63" panels, took them to the tailors and asked them to make 1 pair of 124" panels. They did do an awesome job on them, mind you it cost me an extra $* CDN. I would say if you want to shorten the length then it should be quite a bit cheaper. Bill

    • Q:

"Will that turquoise picture be up soon?"

      • A:

Read the Specs on the curtains. 63" long and 52" wide.

    • Q:

"Is each panel 52 inches wide?"

      • A:

Yes each panel is 52 inches wide.

      • A:

I measured all the ones I have in this house (purchased this past year) and all of mine are 52" wide.

      • A:

yes. The window is just slightly less than 100 inches wide, so when they are closed they are not really gathered or full. But along with the venetian blinds, they keep out almost all the light.

      • A:

Yes they are and fit nicely across my picture window!!

    • Q:

"I purchased the Madison Park Harvard 5 piece coverlet set in the blue/gray and brown colors. I was wondering if anyone else had and which color curtains you went with. I don't want to do choc brown since it is a girls room. Thanks!"

      • A:

I purchased them in red and they work well

      • A:

        wanted some insulated curtains

      • A:

I have bought them in beige, an ivory sort of color, blue, green, and brown..... obviously I love these curtains. I have found that the beige do not block the light as well as the darker colors, but I also found that the brown was too strong a color except for a man's room -- colors are a personal choice for everyone, I think.

    • Q:

"The item options list "turquoise" as a color you can buy, but I don't see a photo in the listing. Has anyone purchased turquoise? Any photos available?"

    • Q:

"The description says rod pocket but the photos look like grommets which are they?"

      • A:

I have three sets of these curtains. Definitely rod pockets, not grommets.

      • A:

        they are rod pocket

      • A:

I used a rod, there is a pocket for this. These curtains work well but there is a lot of light let in at the top if you do not do a valance to cover it. These are good quality.

      • A:

These are rod pockets. I can tell you they are great curtains. Sometimes I don't know it's daylight because they are made so well. They are soft and hang beautifully. I bought a different brand grommet type for my patio doors and hate them. I will be buying these again for sure! The light does not come into my room because I hung the rod higher than the window to have the appearance of larger windows. You'll be happy you bought them. I bought the double rod so I could hang panels behind

      • A:

there are two kinds keep looking until you find the right description with the photos I have with pockets , but I know they have grommets too.

      • A:

These have a rod pocket (which I chose to not use) AND sewn in 2"x3" tabs on the back of the curtain. I prefer the tabs, as the curtain slides easily with my 1" rods. Can't go wrong with these soft machine washable curtains!

      • A:

mine have 2 ways to hang them either like a normal rod pocket or back tabs

      • A:

        Mine have both...

      • A:

        Rod Pocket.

      • A:

        Rod pockets

      • A:

It has rod pocket, not grommet

      • A:

The "pockets" are on the back side of the top of the curtain, instead of being a "sleeve" like older-type rod pockets. That makes it look a little like grommets when the curtains are hung. I happen to like the look!

      • A:

Pocket and there are straps on back side of curtain pocket to use instead of pocket to makes it look pleated.

      • A:

The same here. These are not grommet.

      • A:

Grommets curtain has grommet rings that rod can pass outside. But this item's rod is just passes inside. So that description is correct. This blackout solid curtain has rod pocket/back tab.

      • A:

They have back tabs. It's not the traditional rod pocket. So they create more of a "pleat", which I prefer over rod pockets.

      • A:

They are rod pockets. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how soft and smooth they feel. I hung them right out of the package.

    • Q:

"How well do these slide to open or close? Because they don't have grommets I'm concerned. Mine would be open and closed daily."

      • A:

These open and close fairly easy. I've had no issues.

      • A:

These are great as far as I am concerned.

      • A:

These curtains slide nicely on a standard 1 or 2 inch rod. I open them and close them 5 or 6 times daily. I am very pleased quality is excellent.

      • A:

I have no issues opening and closing them. I also open and close daily.

      • A:

These are easily slid open and closed..I ordered the lavender and haven't had any problems.

      • A:

There are tabs on the back near the top of the curtain which you could use in order to open and close them easily. There are also the rod pockets which I am using, but I keep them closed all the time.

      • A:

They are easy to slide but I just use the tiebacks and they open the window area up to get plenty of light in and to view out.

      • A:

They open and close very easy. I have had no issues

      • A:

They open and close fine. Mine is on a slide rod

    • Q:

"My rod is one inch, will these grommets slid easily?"

      • A:

Yes, will slide. They are pretty much standard across companies that manufacture.

      • A:

There are two rod sleeves, one for a thinner rod at the very top, and one right below it for larger rods. The only thing with using the larger one, is that the curtain will sit slightly higher. It's not a problem if you gave yourself room at the bottom.

      • A:

I measured my curtain ring and it is 1 /12 inches so you will have lots of room, I have ordered three sets of these curtains and love them!!

      • A:

Hi, Yes, they will. You will love them. Pierrette

      • A:

The numbers you give and my math say 'Yes'.

      • A:

yes they will cover your window

      • A:

yes it will, I have the same window size , they fit perfect . I love these Curtains , ( I have the dark Red and Navy ) I did not like the natural color with my decor but they are TOP quality, better then I expected.

      • A:

It will cover it with no problem with maybe a little extra to spare.

      • A:

        Yes they will. Enjoy them.

      • A:

I use tension rods on all mine and they work fine.

      • A:

A tension rod could work. I had double curtain rods so I hung them behind what was already there.

      • A:

a tension rod is working for me!

      • A:

I used a regular curtain rod on mine and they look fantastic in my spare bedroom.

We bought the dark grey for energy effeciancy. Our bedroom is on the west side of the house and gets so hot in the summer. I close the room early and you can really tell the difference in the coolness at night when we go to bed. I would definitely recommend these for light and heat shut out. Rhonda H.
