    • Thermal Light Blackout curtains

I was a little skeptical about purchasing them. Took a chance, and SO glad I did. I appreciated the fact that they came in a pair on panels. You can hang them by round clips, or a rod. The fabric is VERY nice. Thick and soft. They really made a dramatic change to my bedroom - very elegant and cozy. I work night shift and they are AWESOME! Keeps my room very cool when needed and warmth when the days are a little cooler. Instructions said to tumble on low with a damp cloth to remove wrinkles, I just hung them up and in a day or so the wrinkles came out on their own. GREAT value for the price. So happy I didn't spend extra money; these are far better than ANY I've looked at in stores.

I'm so happy with these blackout curtains! I ordered 2 sets for a large double wide window measuring 80" wide and hung them on a rod with matching clip-on rings, (also from Overstock,) that I extended to 106" wide. This creates the illusion of a much wider window and allows me to pull the curtains open and have the bulk of the fabric on either side without blocking the view. When the curtains are pulled closed there is still plenty of material to create soft folds across the window. This blocks about 95% of the light through this east-facing window.I bought the gray which is more of a blue-gray, as another reviewer mentioned. It works beautifully with my soft gray carpet even though there is no blue tone to the carpet color. The curtain fabric is the same color on both sides and has a somewhat heavy, yet soft, silky texture that drapes beautifully. I was surprised that the thread used was white, not gray, and the hem is just straight stitched, not a more hidden hem-stitch that I would have used if I made them myself. I thought that was going to be pretty noticeable but frankly, now that they are hung, it doesn't bother me enough to complain. I ironed them before hanging them, although they weren't overly wrinkled. Overall, the look is beautiful, they block the light effectively and I would definately buy them again at this great price.

    • Already Notice A Difference
      Verified Purchase

I compared this product with 2 others sets of curtains from two major department stores. (one starts with "S" the other with a "K") These curtains were mid-range between both stores in terms of price, but the quality is superior! I have 2 large sliding glass doors that face West, so as the winter winds started to blow, I needed a solution. When this product arrived, I immediate loved the color and texture. When I hung them up, they definitely blocked out more light than the other ones I had tried. I can already tell a difference in the reduction of cold air that used to enter my living room. I never know what to think of these ratings when I read them. It's hard to order curtains without seeing them first. After shopping around, I had to leave a comment and highly recommend these.

    • Good Product & Great Value
      Verified Purchase

I liked these curtains enough to buy them for 5 rooms in my home. The feel of the fabric is soft and smooth and they drape nicely. They're not heavy or stiff. I have purchased Chocolate, Beige and Dark Olive. The two darker colors do a great job of blocking light, the Beige not as well but still very good--good enough to use in the room of my day-sleeping shift-worker.(The Beige is not a gold at all but more of a very nice Stone or Antique White color.) We have a room with a wall of large windows and they help a lot with insulating. Before hanging I tossed them in the dryer with a damp cloth for 10-15 min. , hung them up right away, and all wrinkles or folds disappeared.

    • When they say "soft," they mean it.
      Verified Purchase

As someone familiar only with heavy, rubber-backed insulated drapes, I think the manufacturers seriously under-promoted that aspect of this product in the description. I can't believe how soft they are, and how well they hang and drape, nothing like the old insulated curtains. The fabric has a rich feel, but silky smooth, and it completely blocks the light, even direct sunlight. You may have a little light bleed through at the top where the rod is, but the fabric itself is totally, surprisingly, opaque. You can't tell if it's day or night, at least through the fabric. All of us online shoppers know the feeling of buying an item, and, once it arrives, finding out that it somehow doesn't live up to our expectations. This product exceeded my expectations, and will probably go into my Hall of Fame of Great Online Finds. Score one for the shopper!

    • Black Out Curtains
      Verified Purchase

I loved these curtains, but I ordered the gray and they are not gray. They are a smoke blue, they look terrible next to anything that is gray. If you are looking for the gray, do not order them because gray will not be what you get. Other than the color being really off on this one, I really liked the darkening they provided to the room. Seemed to help with outside noise as well. I had to return them and no other color will work for the gray I need.

    • Q:

"Will 2 panels (one set) fit a sliding glass door.?"

      • A:

I used 2 sets on mine -- I don't like the stretched look 1 set would look like.

      • A:

I do not think it would be full enough with just 2 panels. Together they are 102 inches wide. You want the curtain to be a minimal 1.5 times the width of the window or in this case the sliding glass door. I would measure and calculate to be sure.

    • Q:

"What color is the back of the curtain?"

      • A:

        White to off white!!

      • A:

I ordered the light grey color and the back is exactly the same color as the front.

      • A:

I purchased the navy blackouts. The fabric is the same throughout. No plastic backing. The fabric is very finely woven and blocks out light extremely well. Curtains are soft not stiff like other blackouts. Highly recommend.

    • Q:

"How dark is the tan compared to the beige?"

      • A:

I could not find the tan to compare with the beige.

    • Q:

"They show dark gray as an option in the pictures but only slate gray is available to purchase. Is dark gray out of stock or just a mistake and not made in that color? Thanks"

      • A:

Slate grey is a true grey color, medium to dark color. Very tasteful.

    • Q:

"I am looking for a Grommet 54 inches wide 84 inch long....something in the beige family and to have a tradiional look"

      • A:

These are 52 inches wide. Here is what we have now: https://www.overstock.com/search?keywords=54+inch+wide+curtain+panels&taxonomy=sto1&ralt=sto45,sto43,sto35&TID=AR:TRUE&searchtype=Header

    • Q:

"What color rod should I get for the wine?"

      • A:

        A black rod will work.

    • Q:

"does the slate grey have a blue hue to them?"

      • A:

My monitor is not showing a blue tone.

      • A:

I am a designer and I purchased the slate grey color. It is a pure slate grey, no blue to it. The color is rich and a medium to dark grey color. Works with anything, very neutral and pleasing. I would recommend these to anyone. Well worth the price. They provide the look of pleated drapes and operate easily.

    • Q:

"Can anyone please describe the color of the pink ones. Light pink? Many of the panels that Ive seen described as pink were more peachy or fushia colored. Im looking for a calm light pink. Thanks"

      • A:

The light pink that I received had a purple tone to it. It was an odd mix of purple and pink. I wouldn't call it light pink.

      • A:

I ordered these for my daughters nursery, I would describe them as a pale pastel pink. Very pretty and calm, not bright. I don't really see a shade of purple in them. They are great quality and beautiful! I wish I could attach a picture for you!

      • A:

Whitney, the pink is a true soft pink. My daughter has them in her bedroom and they are really very pretty. They are not peachy or fushia-like. The walls in her apartment are white so the wall color doesn't throw the pink into another color range, which can happen if the wall color is something other than white. Audrey N.

Yes they are good insulated drapes/curtains. Bought two pairs for a sliding door in bedroom - great blackouts also. I bought beige and works as good as a dark color. Also gives you a choice of hanging them like drapes using the tabs in the back (which I prefer) or hang gathered like curtains by putting curtain rod through the opening large enough for a 1" rod. Also a very good price.

      • A:

They are actually rod pocket drapes.

      • A:

The tabs are in the back, really nice. I own a ten room hotel and have several of the rooms with these. I just wish they had white.

      • A:

They have the option to be pocket rod curtains or back tab. I used the back tabs and it gave a more pleated look to the way they hang.

    • Q:

      "Are they lined"

      • A:

No but they are truly black out fabric so they do not need lining. I am very pleased with the quality of these curtains.

      • A:

        Love these curtains

      • A:

The lining is built in. These drapes are wonderful. The material is heavy but not heavy. They have enough weight to hang beautifully. I have done two rooms and will buy for my living room also. They are rod drapes but look like pinch pleated and like I said they drape beautifully. I hope this helps

      • A:

HI. I've bought 2 sets of these for babys room and guest room. No they are not lined. They do "darken" the room some...but NOT BLACKOUT. So i went to local Fabric Store and bought Blackout Liner cut to size of these curtains and easily attached them with safety pins (I dont sew). Works great and now both rooms are totally Dark...even with afternoon sun beating right on the windows!!!

      • A:

They are not lined. If you have blinds underneath they will black out completely. If you do not it will look like sunset when the curtains are closed.

      • A:

No but they are truly black out, I purchased one pair and like them so well, that I have put them in all my bedrooms because we live on the lake and the entire back side of our house is glass and it is hard to sleep with that sun. I have them ordered for our bedroom which is part of the side of the house that is full glass. Highly recommended!!! Love mine!!!

      • A:

No not lined, but densely woven. They block light, heat, cold.

      • A:

No but they are thick enough that they keep the light out of the room. They are really nice curtains.

      • A:

They are a really dense heavy fabric and are truly blackout, I ordered red and really appreciate the color. I am very happy with them.

      • A:

If they are not lined and are considered blackout and have a built in liner is it white backing? Or whatever color they are will it show white or its color from the outside?

      • A:

Sorry for the confusion. Tan is more reddish and darker than beige colored. And the color depends on differ light.

      • A:

I would consider there beige drapes as being more of a darker cream color. My opinion is that they would go with your living room.
