These are lovey, thermal blackout drapes, much lighter in weight than older-style blackout drapes with white rubber backing. The fabric in these drapes has a 'silky' feel and appearance, much like polished cotton. The color is a very neural light beige, lending itself more to a cream tone with no pink or grey cast to it. They would compliment a room in which most any shade of brown, gold, rust or orange are the primary color s. I am very pleased with the quality of both the fabric and the wokmanship in these drapes. The hem is topstiched, which makes these drapes more appropriate for a den or family room, so I wouldn't recommend them for use in a formal livingroom, but they are very nice, sturdy drapes, stitched in clear nylon, so I anticipate they will hold up well for years. I am going to order several more sets in different shades for other rooms I am redocarating.

    • Room Darkening, NOT true Blackout Curtains
      Verified Purchase
      Option: Beige - 1 Panel

As many reviewers have mentioned, it's very tough to true blackout curtains that are extra wide. These were the two factors that mattered most for my purchase. I'm like a vampire when I sleep. A crack of sunlight wakes me up in the morning. I used to tape black garbage bags around the accordion wings of my air conditioning window units because they filtered too much light. So I really need curtains that let in practically zero light. Then there's the width issue. Most brands focus on the lengths. 84 and 96 inches long seem to be the norm. But if you have 105 inches across of window space to cover, width is what matters most. 50 inch wide panels are most common. But in my case that would require 3 panels at least to cover the space. Amazon carries a brand called Blackout Curtain (perhaps too obvious?) that were 80 inches wide per panel. Workable but they say the rule of thumb is to get at least twice the width you need to create that bunched up look in your curtains. Then I find this product. 100" W x 84"L extra wide blackout curtains by Best Home Fashion. $$ a panel seemed reasonable. The packaging itself has the word "Black Out" in large letters and "Wide Width" in red lettering. Says it blocks out 99.9% of light. Perfect! Girlfriend wants them in beige. I'm skeptical any color other than black will do the job, but OK I'll give it a try. Well my hunch was right. I can only speak for the beige colored curtains. A white bed sheet would probably do a better job of blocking out sun rays than these translucent window coverings. These are not true blackout curtains by any definition. It certainly darkened the room. But if you use the word "blackout", at 6am my room should look like the inside of a coffin and not like a romantic scene out of a Jane Austen movie. I'd say these curtains blocked out 49.9% of the light. Perhaps 99.9% on the packaging is a typo. On the brighter side (that's right), I like the fabric quality, and they look good once hung up. Large grommets make it easy to slide the curtains open and closed. But I wound up having to hang up blackout roller shades over the 3 window panes to supplement these curtains' blackout failure. And I originally had the roller shades up alone before taking them down. They couldn't do a sufficient job alone either as too much light was seeping through the sides. I imagine the black colored curtains might be a different story. Looking back I should have simply spent $$ on a sleep mask at Rite Aid. But I find that to be too claustrophobic. So I guess I really am not a vampire after all.

    • Different Lengths Issues
      Verified Purchase
      Option: Black - 1 Panel

I purchased quite a few pairs of this curtain in different widths, lengths and colors for different rooms in my house. So far i have been happy with the panels. I really like that they are machine washable, and do not have the thermal type backing. When the sun is shining there are tiny pinholes in which you can see light, but it's still less than you'd get from a regular pair of curtains. I just purchased 2 panels in the 84in length, hung them up earlier today. One of the panels is 1.5 inches longer than the other one. I'm trying to find infor for contacting customer service, to see how I go about getting another panel. I do not want to send them both back and have 2 more panels sent, because what's to say the new ones will match. Hopefully we'll resolve the issue, overall I really like the panels. The tie back are too small for the 84wide panels (which are the same size that came with the 48 panels I have on another window.)

I had the hardest time finding extra wide curtains, and it definitely was worth it. The curtains look great! They provide absolute blackout, to the point that I am leaving a crack when drawing them to ensure I do not bump into furniture at night. The color is soothing; it does not over overwhelm the room, though they cover the entire wall. The only drawback I see is that curtains still show creases after hanging for two weeks. It was recommended by the manufacturer to take them through a drying cycle with a damp cloth, and I did just that, with no result. It does not look ugly, but it is noticeable.

I was looking for thermal drapes that would slide easily over the pole so I could open and close them daily. They are not only easy to open and close, but the soft feel, thickness and quality are superb! The color is great. I love them. Thanks for giving me exactly what I needed. I ordered 2 100x84 panels because they were less expensive. I wish I had just gotten 2 panels per window. Other than that, I am a very happy camper!

First 2 curtains I received were repackaged (not in their manufacturer packaging) and the curtains didn't match in length or color (one was somewhat grayer). Overstock sent new ones which were in original packaging and matched fine. Bit of a hassle with having to return but am satisfied. Seems likely that the reason the original ones were returned was exactly the same as my reason for rejecting them. I wonder who will get them next.

What a great find! These curtains are extra wide, plenty long, hang beautifully, and really do block out the sun, heat and cold. And the color is clearly a dark/navy blue which is exactly what I was looking for. I've had these curtains since summer (so nearly 6 months) and I'm very pleased with them.

100% satisfied with these curtains. Not too dark or too light gray. I like the fact that the gray color is the same on the side that is seen from the outside. It totally keeps out the light and covers two sets of sliding glass doors beautifully.

The panel arrived in great condition and was just as described. The panels do provide "Blackout" , except for around the edges were the panel is not held tight to the wall. We did have to hem these panels as the were fit inside of an opening instead of against the wall. However, we knew this prior to purchase. Overall a great product.

Love these, I looked every where to find panels this big and Overstock is the only affordable place to buy them. I got the gray ones and they are great. Love the easy rings for installation and opening and closing. They look a lot better than the old pinch pleated drapes that they replaced.

      • A:

The grommets are silver, but thats what I needed

      • A:

The grommets for mine are more of a copper/bronze. It wasn't a big concern for me since I'm using it (doubled) as a blackout curtain in our grandbaby nursery, so it's pushed open most of the time. When doubled, the curtain gives total blackout to trick those little ones into naptime at Mimi's House!

      • A:

The Burgundy color option is a deeper maroon shade, so if you want a deeper red shade, the cardinal red is likely your best option.

      • A:

        True burgundy color,not deep red

"I ordered 5 panels in mustard for my Lr and Dr large windows. I wanted to see if I would like them before ordering more for my family room. Sadly you are not offering them in mustard now. will you be adding that color again?"

      • A:

How would I know. It would seem that the vendor would be he only ones who could tell you about stock. Sorry. I do like the drape. It does a good job of providing privacy for me at night-time. Good luck.

    • Q:

"Is the panel lined or one color on both sides?"

      • A:

They are not lined, same color on the back

      • A:

It is the same color on the back side. I use them on a sliding glass door though, and they've done a great job of keeping the afternoon sun out. They help a lot with keeping the heat from coming into the room from the sun. I do think they block a lot of light as well, very nice quality fabric for the price.
