We received the packages for this Armoire early which was really nice. I had a professional assembler unpack and set it up so it was straight forward. If the floor is slightly tilted (like on carpet up on top of carpet tacks against wall, front needs to be shimmed up otherwise the doors will shift and be out of balance, which isn't a huge issue. However, this was assembled on Sunday and today (Friday) it still stinks!! We're going to try things like baking soda, white vinegar, or activated charcoal to see if we can remove the odor. If you purchase this, sit it in a garage for a week or more to try to air it out before setting up inside your home. We've already attached to the wall so unless we undo all that, we can't take that route now.
The finished product is a really gorgeous, bluish grey piece with a lot of room for storage. However, it took us hours to assemble it. It arrived in 4 large boxes, each over 50 lbs. It took a lot of time and a lot of space, and the pieces are really heavy. Because there were so many heavy pieces to move around, we ended up accidentally scratching the wood in the process. My finished product has several scratches on it, some so big that we had to strategically place the armoire in our bedroom so that no one would see them. I understand this item could not have arrived fully assembled, but I do believe there were a lot of parts of the assembly that could have been and should have been done ahead of time. Also, it would be nice if there was a way to add the optional shelf in the middle (of the top half), as the two shelves are so spread apart it makes it hard to use this item for clothes. All in all, I like this piece a lot. It is absolutely beautiful and I can tell it will last me for years. Not to mention it holds a ton of stuff! But if I had known at the time of purchase what I know now about the assembly, I would have looked for something else.
This armoire is a nicely constructed piece for the money. The dark finish looks classy and the drawers and door open well. It was fairly easy to assemble. My husband and I completed it in about 2 hours. We did use a power drill. It holds a lot of clothing. We are happy with it.
Although armoire looks very nice as finished product, there were no pre-drilled holes on the whole right inside of cabinet. Fortunately my husband was able to take care of this. It took about six hours total for two people to assemble.
