Fresh applesauce is just a few cranks away. Throw your extra washed apples into a slow cooker with a little bit of water -- no need to peel or core them. After six hours or so, process them using the Mirro food mill. Add whatever you like for additional flavor: brown sugar, maple syrup, ginger, cinnamon. Voila: the freshest of applesauce. Delicious. And ever so easy.
