My 5 yr old made in Japan Zojirushi bit the dust when the plastic steam vent on top broke. Not typical of the brand reputation, but I will never buy another again. This Panasonic was *** cheaper, and had great energy saving features such as a timer (to power down at night). The 3 liter capacity also means I only fill up once a day. Negatives are a slight uncured rubber smell when opened, but it is significantly less than most made in China hot water pots. The top is a little hard to close. You have to physically press it down as the lid is not heavy enough to close on its own. I recommend this as a good middle point between the premium brands and the basic pots on the market.
I've owned several rice cookers and this is by far the very best ever. It makes the fluffy, sticky rice like I ate while living in Japan. Because the lid seals shut, the steam is trapped inside. It has a warming feature to keep the rice warm after cooking. I like the small 4-cup capacity. I can't speak for longevity because at the time I'm writing this I've only owned it a few weeks, however, I've made several pots of delicious rice and would happily recommend this rice cooker. It's also very attractive. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
My mom gave this food processor to me after I told her I love the one she has. She has a much larger one with more features but it's also a black and decker. This food processor saves me so much time when cooking and I loved mine so much I gave a friend one for Christmas this year and she has already used it and loves it too!
