well constructed and easy to assemble. the only downside was the small post that supports the middle of the bed. We just took it off and use a few cinder blocks for support.

    • Decent bed but needed better support system.
      Verified Purchase

The headboard was slightly uneven and the platform support system was inadequate for the mattress. I had t add additional support to the top and bottom end of the matter was and the platform system was sagging due to bowing and no center support near the ends.

After 60 days of regular usage the wood planks supporting the mattress start to bend and chip away. The additional leg supports are falling apart. The entire support system is made out of pressed wood. Avoid this bed at al cost. All you'll end up paying for is very expensive saw dust.

This bed is fantastic. We just assembled it two days ago, so I can't speak to wear and tear, but it seems very sturdy and was pretty easy to assemble. Looks far more expensive than it actually is.

theis bed is solid wood very easy to put together and the quality is way better than expected.. solid hevay wood good support and really easy to put together... the only thing i would suggest is adding to 8 inch wooden supports at the ends of the cross beam support.. the include 2 and im sure its enough but it was simple enough to cut 2 pieces of wood the same size as the leg stands they give you and just add them to the end of the cross supprot beam with a drywall screw honestly this whole thing took 20 minutes including adding the 2 extra supports... i can not emphasize enough how good the quality is and how solid this bed is... and how easy it was to assemble

Purchasing from Overstock was a great experience - my first time. Placed order, received confirmations, tracking info etc. Bed arrived just as Overstock stated it would. Received all parts and hardware. Assembly was very easy and took me by myself about an hour and a half to remove from boxes (3) carry upstairs from garage and assemble. I had a 2x4 so I cut and added a couple more 7" supports. We could not be happier with the purchase. The bed is solid, nice color and we love the low profile. We will definitely be making more purchases with Overstock.

I purchased the king size bed. After reviewing the other reviews, I took the advice and purchased some additional supports for the wooden slat that goes horizontal at your head and foot. So here is what you need to do. Go to a home depot or Lowes store and I spent nine dollars even. Get one wooden 2" by 4" and have it cut (at the store you bought it at...for free) into two seven inch pieces. Do not cut them anymore or any less. My bed had extra screws but you will need two longer WOODEN screws but I did not know that before hand. the screws provided are not long enough to go through all the wood and grip your support piece. An 8" screw will do just fine. NOTE: Pay attention to the instructions while placing your wooden support slats down. YOUR SINGLE VERTICAL PIECE SHOULD BE PLACED UNDERNEATH THE HORIZONTAL PIECES. If you place the other way around your support pieces will not work. There are no guide marks or guide lines that encourage placement of the horizontal wooden support slats. Honestly, you don't need them, All you need to do is (read the instructions) and place your foundation support slats down first with your two provided supporting beams and the two additional ones you made. Then place ALL of your other horizontal wooden pieces down first and do not screw them in. This should give you a good sense of how to evenly space the out. All in all. the put together phase is not hard at all. I did it by myself! Like most of the other reviews stated, the bed is solid and looks great. I am an athletic man that stands at 6 foot 4 inches and 230 pounds. The bed is not moving at all. There is no cricks or noise when I move around in it. Your late night sessions should be well supported! Its a platform bed so get sheets that compliment the bed style. The bed comes in three boxes and took me about an hour to put together. I have no complaints about the bed at all. I LOVE THE BED!!! The only complaint I have is the UPS driver said identified the weight of the three boxes at one pound each. This delayed my order because their manning is adjusted by the weight of each package. I just purchased the Alsa night stand and will also purchase the other accompanying items with this bed to complete my room.

    Questions & Answers

    • Q:

"There are no pre-drilled holes on the side railing-strips to connect the ends of the slats with m4x32mm "chipboard" wood screws (the slats do have pre-drilled holes). I understand from reviews I found before that it's helpful to pre-drill pilot holes in the side railing-strips for this purpose. What I don't understand and urgently request assistance with is: HOW DO YOU DRILL PILOT HOLES STRAIGHT DOWN INTO THE SIDE RAILING STRIP ?? There is a trim piece at the top of the side panels that, given the girth of the drill body, makes it impossible to drill a pilot hole straight down into the side railing strip."

"Should this bed come with build instructions or screws / bolts? I've received the Headboard and Rails but that's all. Am I missing something?"

      • A:

Ours came with assembly instructions, screws, and bolts--everything needed to put it together.

    • Q:

"Does this bed frame use a box spring?"

      • A:

No, this does not use a box spring.

      • A:

No wood planks and its junk. My german shepard jumped on it and it broke. I had to get a carpenter to come and fix it and reinforce it.

    • Q:

"To keep my warranty on my sleep number bed I was told I have to use their frame, will that fit inside this frame if I choose not to use the supplied support slats?"

The bed is not designed for a particular mattress. The issue with using this frame will be the piece of wood on the rail that the slats rest on.

    • Q:

"Hi I have a question about this bed regarding the Mattress support slats. How far apart are the ones that the bed comes with? When I purchased the mattress I was told that they should only be about 2 - 2.5" apart.... Was going to order extra one but wanted to make sure that the width would match the bed. Can you tell me the with of the interior of the bed frame where the slats would sit? And how far apart the current slats are and what you would recommend."

      • A:

There are 12 slats, 2.5 inches wide that rest on the 75 inch rail. i believe the distance is approximately 3.75 inches.
